When I walk around Times Square looking for interviewees, I purposefully look for interesting people. People with a spark in their eye, people laughing or talking animatedly, people who look deep in thought, people wearing hats – they are ALWAYS good to talk to – and people with interesting hair. The latter drew me to this man. I admit it; I did not recognize one of our greatest minds as he strolled through Times Square. I, the girl who just got a telescope and has been reading only deep sci-fi for years and lives for the day our society turns toward the cosmos for its answers instead of our pockets and TVs – I failed to recognize the incomparable Neil DeGrasse Tyson. That’s why I talked to him about politics instead of the other grillion questions I would have asked, had I only known. That might make this interview better in terms of its spontaneous spirit, but it certainly doesn’t make me FEEL any better. I blew my chance to know the secrets of the universe, people! Alas, I can only hope you enjoy this interview while I nurse my broken heart. Sigh.

Today I offer no solutions, no revelations, no cures for the common cold: nay, today I offer only a mantra, which has served me well for many years. It might serve to soothe your soul, too, if you happen to be frustrated with the stupidity that surrounds you. This week’s video offers a mantra for the above-average student.

My latest piece for RT where I had a lot of fun. Why do people just believe anything that falls out of the media’s pieholes?

People have focused on the end of times since the beginning of times. Did you know that people were predicting the apocalypse thousands of years before JC walked the Earth? Yeah, they did. This week’s video is all about our obsession with Armageddon and the BIGGEST issue I have with that.

The good old days are a myth. You know what’s a good day? Today. It’s the only day you have. Now is good, now is real, now is your eternity people. Wake up and live it, revel in it, smell it, taste it, feel it. THIS is your good old day, and it’s brand-spanking new.

My latest for RT. People on the street have more ideas than world leaders. Surprised?

I’m told over and over again by our media and our politicians that there are just two teams in this country, and I had better choose. I just can’t do it. Both have good points, both have bad points, and neither can possibly encapsulate ANY one individual’s belief system. We are unique mortals with unique minds, and we are being coerced into not using them so that the greedy controllers can continue to laugh at us all the way to the banks they’ve filled with our money.

PEOPLE – once you’ve chosen a team, it’s over for you. You will start to hear your team’s rhetoric as truth and the other team’s rhetoric as blasphemy, without using your brain to choose for yourself. It’s too late. You’ve chosen; you’re officially programmed.

We are a nation divided, and we are falling. I chose Team Resident.

Check out my latest piece for RT, where I ask people what they’d like to get rid of 2012. I would like people to get rid of their sense of us-against-them, personally. All over the world, if people just saw everyone as ONE PEOPLE, instead of as this horrid team mentality, I think we could finally get down to the business of furthering humanity as a whole. It’d be great if mankind could focus its efforts to goals beyond our own generations and to think far into the future. We might actually do some cool stuff that way. The way we’re going though? Remaining in the gutter of stupidity, where we’ve been wallowing since the Greeks.
