One of my pieces for RT – what lengths are you willing to go to in order to ensure safe air travel? Personally, I don’t mind a full-body scanner. It’s the people with BABIES who hold up the lines that I have a problem with.
Well Rezzie, with news that body scanners will be deployed, I’d say my limit is reached. I didn’t mind when the airlines beefed up airport and air traffic security in the States after 9-11. I could accept longer cues, waiting times, detailed interrogations, Military police, Armed Green Berrets with machine guns, required travel interaries. But if it’s biometric data they’re after, & electronic body scans are required to fly to the US I’m a no show there from now on…unless Homeland Security, CIA, FBI, NSA… whatever… comes up with an effective, but less invasive method of scanning for explosives. To top it off, nobody knows whether these devices are even safe. When you go to the doctor for an X-Ray, you wear a lead vest. So to have people walk through these new body scanners without one
…I mean how much radiation is entering their bodies from them? Where’s the information going? Who’s administering the devices? Are they qualified? Do they have a 2 year degree in radiology? What if the transmission from the device is too strong? What if the subject being scanned is a pregnant woman? What potential harm and her unborn may receive by walking through one of these devices?
I’d really think twice before doing so
1) Because we don’t know who’s administering the devices and collecting the data
2) Because the radiation from these devices may be toxic-unsafe.

[..YouTube..] The eyewitnesses who saw the bomber get past security without a passport and with the help of a mysterious man in an expensive suit were American attorneys Kurt Haskell and his wife. Everyone please google Kurt Haskell flight 253.
Haskell said he and his wife were sitting on the ground near their boarding gate in Amsterdam, which is when they saw Mutallab approach the gate with an unidentified man.
Kurt and Lori Haskell are attorneys….
While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. The guy said, ‘He’s from Sudan and we do this all the time.’

One hour after we left the plane, bomb sniffing dogs arrived. … All of the passengers had their carry on bags with them. When the bomb sniffing dogs arrived, 1 dog found something in a carry on bag of a 30 ish Indian man. … I will refer to this man as “The man in orange”. The man in orange… was immediately taken away to be searched and interrogated in a nearby room. …When he emerged from the room, he was then handcuffed and taken away.

[..YouTube..] If you want commercial planes to stop crashing you got to stop paying pilots $18,000/ year. There is going to be an apic pilot shortage in a few years, and many people are going to be killed by substandard $18,000/year pilots.
[..YouTube..] @ianjohn05 Luckily we don’t have that salary problem where I live. I think a salary of about €80,000 a year isn’t too bad. Though, here too, starting pilots are paid subtantially less than experienced ones.

Eyewitnesses have repeatedly stated the ‘bomber’ was helped on board the plane without a passport by a man in a suit.
And they say security was unusually lax at the Dutch airport.
There is a real chance that this was all a set-up, that Dutch intelligence or CIA were involved.
Until you can say definitely this was not the case, you should not call it “another terrrorist attack”.
It was probably an inside job, just like 9/11.

[..YouTube..] The eyewitnesses who saw the bomber get past security without a passport and with the help of a mysterious man in an expensive suit were American attorneys Kurt Haskell and his wife. Everyone please google Kurt Haskell flight 253.
January 15th, 2010 at 11:00 pm
[..YouTube..] From the MLive article:
Haskell said he and his wife were sitting on the ground near their boarding gate in Amsterdam, which is when they saw Mutallab approach the gate with an unidentified man.
Kurt and Lori Haskell are attorneys….
While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. The guy said, ‘He’s from Sudan and we do this all the time.’

[..YouTube..] Also Flight 253 witness Kurt Haskell says:
One hour after we left the plane, bomb sniffing dogs arrived. … All of the passengers had their carry on bags with them. When the bomb sniffing dogs arrived, 1 dog found something in a carry on bag of a 30 ish Indian man. … I will refer to this man as “The man in orange”. The man in orange… was immediately taken away to be searched and interrogated in a nearby room. …When he emerged from the room, he was then handcuffed and taken away.

Since Franklin said that, it’s really ironic that most “liberty” was sacrificed exactly in US.

[..YouTube..] I dont mind higher amounts of security. Went to Mexico over Christmas. Had to take shoes off, belts off, etc etc multiple times but it was no big deal. Except the security guys in Houston where we transferred. laziest bunch of arrogant slobs anywhere.

It absolutely amazes me how there are still people in the world willing to give up their civil liberties for anything. Yes, I have absolutely nothing to hide- but I would strongly object to an unreasonable search wether it be on an airplane, on the street, or in my home.

[..YouTube..] If you want commercial planes to stop crashing you got to stop paying pilots $18,000/ year. There is going to be an apic pilot shortage in a few years, and many people are going to be killed by substandard $18,000/year pilots.
February 24th, 2010 at 7:12 am
[..YouTube..] @ianjohn05 Luckily we don’t have that salary problem where I live. I think a salary of about €80,000 a year isn’t too bad. Though, here too, starting pilots are paid subtantially less than experienced ones.
