There are a lot of charities out there who do lots of amazing, great work. Sometimes, though, it’s hard to know exactly what a charity does or where your money is going. That’s not the case with Charity Water, whose mission it is to get clean drinking water to the one billion people on the planet who don’t have it. That’s it. Get water to people who need it. What’s more basic than that? Sure, it’s nice to help little girls have more self-esteem or send young boys to camp, but if you don’t have water you die. It’s as simple as that. Something like 80% of all diseases are spread because of a lack of clean water, or something like that. I forget the real figure, but luckily Scott Harrison, founder of Charity Water, has it all down. They build wells and set up other types of water purification schemes to make sure people get water. To drink, to wash their hands in, to live. Check out his organization at mycharitywater.org. With 1 billion people in need of water, it’s pretty much, to me, the most crucial charity of all. They are also a 100% model, meaning every dime a person donates to them goes directly toward the cause. And they’re also committed to proving that through photos and GPS tracking. I’m a big admirer of their work, so do me a favor this week and check them out!

You would think these people would spend their time trying to get out of a region with no drinkable water. Incredible to choose to bring a child into that is not only irresponsible; but, despicable.

The Res, you rule!ROLLGRAB makes a worthy point: why is it that we human beings will put up with anything? I guess we feel safer with the devils we know than the angels we don’t. Why do women stay with abusive boyfriends? The armchair moralists aren’t comfortable with these questions.But… many people, despite their intent, can’t improve their lives alone. They need help. ROLLGRAB himself admitted this unwittingly when he said that Americans should find American charities to give to.

I agree. They should all get in the SUVs and come over to your place. You’re such a genius, and SO generous. I do hope you’re ready for them… all of them. There are only about 1.1 billion in total, so you might want your neighbours to help out a bit.But feeding and housing them won’t be any kind of a problem I’m sure, and you’ll hardly notice the effect they have on the jobs market in your area.39 year old folks!!Didn’t think before pressing (Post Comment) did you Bob?
