Have you guys heard of this new site called Twitter? Well, it’s all the rage with companies and people and the kiddies. And your mom! Your mom is probably on it, too.
It used to be a lot of fun before everyone in the planet was on it, though. It was a place where you could share little sound bytes of your thoughts with your friends, kind of like a nerdy way to pass notes in school even though you graduated decades ago.
But now it’s filled up with companies like Best Buy and freaing Starbucks that do nothing other than try to sell you crap. Which already sucks.
But soon! Twitter is going to suck even MORE, when Twitter completes the unveiling of their Promoted Tweets ad program. Vomitorium.

Twitter not makin’ enuf money, Rezzie? Fer tiny 1 line email messages written in shorthand? Geez, gimme a break! That sorta think usedta be free. I’m surprised they make any money at all. Maybe they oughta use their brains, think about providin’ us with some substance. What are they gonna charge us for next? Air? “Yeah, it’s out there, you breathe it, so bedder charge fer that too!”

Why did Twitter ever become big? I believe it has been a hype of people’s desire and I feel the inventors have just been leaving it be while not being the real innovators of what has been hyped. (I mean: the true intention was not really what has become a hype, like has been the case with Google so far).
What do we really need? People are still looking and may become more critical after twitter implements this ad program.

This is bad news. I don’t have much knowledge of or experience using Twitter.
Twitter seems desperate to start generating revenue out of their 20 million US visitors each month. The Internet is already saturated with annoying pop up ads. Can’t open a web page or do a search online without getting bombarded with ads. I think Twitter can come up with better ideas than this. Having company ads pop up in people’s personal tweet streams, probably isn’t going to go over very well.

[..YouTube..] Why do people think that internet companies like twitter are supposed to provide their services for free? Do you think that the people who work for these companies live off of a diet of binary code and electrons? I hate to be the one to break it to you, but they’re real people with real needs including food, water and shelter. Our current economic system requires a person to have money to exchange for access to those things. If you don’t like it, don’t use their site.

[..YouTube..] Twitter doesn’t just suck now. Twitter sucks then, too. And later as well. Twitter is the one word definition for “sucks” in the dictionary. Well, I guess it’s good for sharing links on other sites… but that’s really about it, and you don’t see any of that crap if you just do that…

[..YouTube..] There is a banner ad for Paypal, Walmart, Lenovo, and Etoys right next to your video complaining about how Twitter has gone wrong by allowing advertisers in. That doesn’t prove that your argument is invalid, but it does prove that you, at least, don’t find it convincing.

[..YouTube..] why not just have clickable ads on the side or something. whatever its their company and they provide the service free so just like I endure stupid youtube and jtv commercials, I’ll do it on twitter too, simply because its free. At least its not like back in the day when you had stars blatantly telling you to buy stuff on radio shows. Like at least you can ignore this stuff.

[..YouTube..] How is this any different then any other FREE service that uses Ads to pay their bills. (TV, Radio, etc.) Is it really that hard to ignore an obvious ad? I don’t understand how people get so bent out of shape over stupid things like this. Bills have to be paid somehow. Oh and one more thing. If you THAT bothered by celebrities “pretending to be real people” by creating Twitter accounts, here’s a suggestion: Don’t follow them. Problem solved.

I don’t think people will take kindly to their personal dialogue being infiltrated by corporate sales representatives. It’s like North Korean propoganda speakers that grew legs and walked into the middle of your discussion. What’s next, audio advertisments that interupt your cell phone conservations?

I just had to remove Keith Olbermann from my tweeter account cause he was over tweeting ,but I like to also add that Ralph Nader, Sarah Palin and William shatner are good twitters they tweet only a few times a day not like crazy Keith who twits away like if the twitter is about to go bust.Richard Branson is tolerable he twittes about 3 or 4 times ,not Kith ,Oh, no not he, this man twittes faster then my dog Ugly can fart, no kidding

Twitter can fall by the wayside as far as I’m concerned. It offers nothing of value and that’s probably why they’ve had trouble making it profitable.

[..YouTube..] Perhaps a large government should take ownership of Twitter, i.e. nationalize it. It won’t cost nearly as much as, say, NASA or even a power company. Either that or just start something exactly the same – nobody will care that it isn’t labelled as ‘Twitter’.

[..YouTube..] Honestly, I don’t mind. I love Twitter and if that’s what keeps it going, great. It’s actually a creative way for companies to reach a new demographic. TV, radio, and print ads just don’t have the same impact that they used to. So, if corporate America decides to get creative with trying to reach me, I’ll at least consider the change. Besides. Think of how many people online would kill for ads to run on their website so they could pay the bills. (like me!)
