A piece of mine for RT: Bernard Madoff has already appealed his sentence and is now seeking release until he is sentenced. I find out what the people of New York think about the fraudster’s plea.

Wrong!!!Alot of the money that he got was from other rich people who had control of poor people’s money via 401k and other retirement vehicles.When the other “Rich guys” money was lost to this sceme….. so was the retirement accounts of many poor people.

It seems something went very wrong with Madoff between 1960 and 1990. He started out well. But he turned into a compulsive gambler doubling down at every turn, probably convinced he would win in the end. There will be more rolling heads and eyes.

So I am supposed to feel sorry for millionares and billionares that lost all their money when they thought for years they were making more money than anyone else on faith? Come on. If you put all your eggs in 1 basket or if you are so stupid to believe that just because you know 1 guy that you are better than the system, you deserve to loose it all! Greed lost that money, not Madoff.

I have run into many versions of Bernie Madoff in my life but far less wealthy versions. It’s people’s nature to screw or even murder one another if they feel they can get away with it. They might do it just for the pure fun of collecting all the chips. Pray for plague; if everyone dies what’s left will be redistrubuted to whomever is left to use it. Whomever he was dealing with and took most of the cash would kill him so he will never spill. He’ll probably get a body double for prison.

Prison is really too good for this guy. He should be forced to pick up trash, clean toilets and/or work in a prison camp breaking rocks and getting abused for poor performance. He is really NO DIFFERENT than a guy with a gun robbing someone ecept that he is WORSE because he used his trust and position to do it. How he could do it to friends and charities…defies belief.Maybe there is a BIG BROTHER behind this….more to come no doubt.Nice interviews Res. Youre lookin like a pro!

I agree, but I have no illusions that Madoff will be in the general population. He’s headed for the Hilton of prisons, IF he sees the inside of one. Now that he’s pled, who knows what kind of sweetheart deal he’s going to finagle in order to bring down those in collusion with him. If he’s given *time served*, but I won’t be surprised. I will be even less surprised when the People fail to rise up in an riotous mob, cementing the government’s view that 1984 has finally come.

it’s always amazed me that you can hold up a 7/11 with a gun – get $2000 – get caught and do serious time in jail.then an Enron can come along and steal billions and the culprits serve shorter sentences.white collar crime should have steeper jail sentences than violent crimes.

I think you were on to something and we should also arrest all the people who helped with this scheme.Also, what makes it terrible is this has effectively ended many charities that were investing their money so they could help thousands of other people, so this isn’t just hurting the people who invested 9as if that weren’t enough people affected already).
