Do you know what Tax Freedom Day is, besides TODAY, my fellow Uhmericans? If not, here. Nutshell-wise, it’s the first day of the year in which a whole nation has earned enough to fund the national annual tax burden. So basically everything that you’d earned up until today is the governments, and from this day forward you get to keep your money.

Of course it doesn’t work that way since they take a percentage out of your paycheck all year round, but it’s an interesting way to look at it (thanks, Tax Foundation!). In fact, some might consider it an OUTRAGEOUS way to look at how much we pay in taxes. I bet a lot of people in the United States feel that way.

But in New York City’s Union Square on a sunny day? Not so much outrage going on. In fact, most people were all, “Hey maaaaaan, taxes are ok – we like roads and public services and everyone should pay their fair share!”

Now, I make videos for people all the time, right? And they want me to cover certain topics – much like the very awesome Plentii.com wanted me to cover Tax Freedom Day. But the funny thing is, you just can never tell what the hell people are going to say in response to your question – so you just can’t go into it with a preconceived notion on the outcome. No one saw the outcome of this guy, that’s for sure.

Personally, I’m kind of with the liberal New Yorkers on this one. I kind of don’t mind paying taxes, because I think all of us in society actually use a ton of public services, and we tend to take them all for granted. It’s hard to have a hippie cross-country trip without ROADS. I really, really like indoor plumbing. And the sewer system. It works GREAT.

And I don’t even mind paying more if I’m making more. I don’t really mind pitching in to help people who are less fortunate – I don’t just blame people who need a leg up and write them off as lazy and conniving government-succubi.

The problem I DO have is when everything starts seemingly going to the shitter, and I seemingly keep paying more. THAT’S where I draw the line. You can have 40% of my paycheck, just please, let me see results. As long as I keep seeing results, we all cool. Cool? Cool.

And – Happy Tax Freedom Day, suckers!

[..YouTube..] “I’m an employee who wants to tax my boss so he/she fires me.” Idiot. How about a flat tax or higher sales tax and NO income tax at all? Until 1913, there was no income tax. How did we fund government before that? If we would live within our means, we wouldn’t need an income tax. Stop policing the world, printing money, and bailing out private industry. Stop creating more social programs that make people dependent on the government.

It’s obvious where your tax money goes – the streets and sidewalks that these people are standing on, the upkeep of the park they’re in, that street sign at 3:27, etc, etc, etc…Where the hell do these people think the money for all this stuff comes from?I agree with maimingbetty. They’re all idiots.

  20. joshrain1 Says:

[..YouTube..] @maimingbetty .. what sux is most of the tax you pay goes to killing ppl (to fund wars in afghanistan, iran, iraq). also, it goes to supporting other nations like israel and then screwing poor countries (third world). also, when govt. spends (because americans can’t work and depend on the govt for benefits like healthcare) the money comes from taxes. more taxes also mean ppl are less inclined to work if govt starts taking more share of the money.

  21. Michopsychology Says:

[..YouTube..] @maimingbetty Let’s say you love the environment so much you want to spend 33% of your income protecting threatened natural habitats. Depending on your tax bracket, the government may already spend that money on a host of programs akin to, in my opinion, charity. You may be not only dispassionate about these programs, but in disagreement with some of them. Meanwhile the environment suffers and you are committed elsewhere. You are not able to prioritize unless the majority of America agrees.

  22. Michopsychology Says:

[..YouTube..] @maimingbetty There is some debate about whether roads would be left in disrepair and the general politeness of civilization would evaporate if the government didn’t control them.

  32. stellarspellar Says:

Did you go to or take your child(ren) to a public school today?
Do you get your water from a non-well source?
Did you flush some bullshit down the toilet today that didn’t go into a septic tank?
Did you see a firetruck today? A police car?
Know anyone who has served in the military?
Did you use GPS today (developed and maintained by the U.S. Air Force).
Did you manage not to get sick from eating from one of thousands of providers, whether restaurant or store bought? (food handling and preparation standards)
    Go to a park recently?
Blah blah blah blah. I there are endless examples of where I taxes go. I don’t mind paying taxes because I know where it goes and what it provides to me. Now I do not like my, and others, money being wasted. I do not mean of a program I don’t use or one I think is silly because I understand others may really need it or really benefit from it and that I try not to be a greedy bastard.

It really does seem the vast majority of people in the U.S. don’t know where their taxes go. Yes, you can’t really know where every penny goes, but it’s not hard to know where it is generally spent.
There are endless examples of where our taxes go. I don’t mind paying taxes because I know where they go and what they provide to me. Now I do not like my, and others, money being wasted. We need to think of taxes as our collective pool of resources to better our national community—particularly since we don’t MAKE SHIT IN THIS COUNTRY ANYMORE!!! They aren’t a bad thing. I’m a simple person—for the most part—that grew up in the South in a very conservative, religious, working-class family. I’ve served close to a decade in the military—well if that doesn’t make one feel old now. From living in many different places all over the world, I understand how and why some people feel differently about taxes, government and things they don’t have firsthand experience with. I understand why it’s hard for a person from a small town in a large state with a small population to get this big picture. Hell, I’m not that social of a person in many regards, but dang it, I believe we all need to look out for each other—and I’m not even a religious person anymore! It kills me when I see all these white, conservative (politically speaking that is), religious people going all teabag crazy. Sounds like someone needs to try not to selectively listen and read at church. If you’re going to call yourself a Christian, you best FULLY live it. And from what I remember from the bible, Jesus was quite the socialist (and not the kind some like to group under the Nazi flag, but the more basic tribal type and that are used widely around the developed world). Yeah, think about it before you get all defensive or dismiss me Christians.
As for what to tax, on a federal level I feel to be fair we need to tax everything equally or nothing at all. I really think just an income tax should be all there is on a federal level. Fairest is a flat rate—in thought—but if you make $10,000 in a year, that $1,000 makes a big difference. If you make $1,000,000, that $100,000 is a lot of money, but the remaining $900,000 goes a LOOONG way. With great power—in our society that means money—comes great responsibility (actually, maybe I’m wrong, but I recall the bible saying something along the lines as “to whom much is given, much will be expected”). As for taxing things like goods and services, that can be set by the needs of states and municipalities. With a country of our size and diversity, we need to be flexible to local needs. Plus, this allows people to live in areas that are run in ways they feel meet their ideals. We need to streamline our government and make sure it runs efficiently and with integrity, on ALL levels. I think before people start bitching at the federal government, they best make sure their local and state governments are run well first—then go after D.C.
I know these thoughts are noble and may be pie in the sky—mmmm, pie—but that doesn’t mean we should give up on them or just ignore the topics that need our attention as citizens of this country. Education first and don’t be an armchair politician.

  40. ShiekUrBooty Says:

[..YouTube..] @Maserati7200 those aren’t “your taxes”, federal income taxes are the lawful property of the US government. In fact, money, or US CURRENCY, is property of the US Government as well. Therefore, you can’t even say it’s YOUR money, because it’s not even your money.

  41. ShiekUrBooty Says:

But in doing so, you violated that hippy’s First Amendment rights.I think there should be a tax on advertisers that demand no Fuck words in YouTube vids. It’s in your constitution, your ancestors fought and died for the right to say “fuck”.There should also be a tax on vloggers who toady to the advertisers by bleeping out the Fuck word.

  64. ten3six Says:

[..YouTube..] yeah. fuck all you taxi haters!!!

  65. Cristoforo87 Says:

[..YouTube..] Yes, people, I understand taxes are necessary. I honestly don’t think there are too many people are arguing that taxes are inherently wrong. The problem is: 1.) Taxes are way too high, ridiculous, and imposed on too many things, and 2.) Related to the first, the tax money is used like a drunken sailor on shore leave, used to fund stupid useless programs that some lobbyist or special interest group bribed into the funding. That’s the problem with taxation in America today.

  66. Wasp16mm Says:

[..YouTube..] alt kids hippies & “artists” are so so smart!

  67. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] Yes, let’s all hang out and enjoy the lovely comforts of Union Square Park, which of course is maintained and kept clean every day by magical elves who work for free while bitching about how our tax dollars are stolen by politicians. Surely none of those taxes go towards that park you take for granted.

  69. IStormywatersI Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 if i wasn’t mistaken I think that was the exact point this video was trying to make… all of these people bitching didn’t know that the transportation, roads, and parks all around them were tax money.

  74. CommentorX Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 Yes, and let’s not forget the $9.38 million spent on renovating a train station in Lancaster, even though it hasn’t been used in 30 years. Or the $219,000 spent to study the sex lives of freshmen women at Syracuse. Or the $3.4 million turtle tunnel in Florida – oh, yes, let’s not forget that.

  75. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @CommentorX I don’t think anyone disagrees that often tax money is spent poorly or even incompetently. Faith based initiatives. Abstinence-only sex ed. Bridges to nowhere. But taxes also fund basic things that we all tend to take for granted such as maintaining the very park they’re standing in, which was my point…and hopefully her point as well.

  76. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

    [..YouTube..] still vacant…………..

  77. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 sadly, you believe goverment is efficient and can spend money wisely and improve and not worsen the problem. you alreay explained how it will not work and it was the dems that passed it and no one else. you did not get your public option but in their haste to pass it, they forgot to include any regulatory controls on the insurance companies. Read the bill next time assholes. There is nothing to laugh about. this country is bankrupt and becomes greece in ten years.

  78. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @RitalSoviet actually, the us budget is about twenty percent on the military. most of the rest of our budget is spent on entitlements that are bankrupt and have not surpluses to offer. the miltary is not bankrupting the country. it is entitlements. thank you fdr in your kindness but long term socialism loses.

  79. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @hughster41 ” We don’t need miltary bases in 100 foreign countrys.”I never claimed we did need military bases in 100 foreign countries. “Schools don’t cost much, but teachers unions do. “You obviously don’t work in education, do you?” The public school system is a monopoly that needs to be broken. “Yes, because homeschooling is such an effective model & everyone should learn the Earth is 6000 years old.cont’d

  80. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] cont’d”" I am all for vouchers which would give parents the freedom of chioce”Again, you don’t work in “Yes, cause corporations fix everything. Sure. “The post office needs to be scaled, it’s running a huge defict.”Yeah, cause what the post offices needs is LESS employees.”We pay for raods and bridges when we pay out yearly registration and gas tax. “The operative word there is “tax”

  81. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE ” sadly, you believe goverment is efficient and can spend money wisely and improve and not worsen the problem”Sadly, some people make up positions people don’t actually hold just so they have a reason to argue. And again, we were already paying for other people’s healthcare. The single-payer option, which still would have required tax money, would have improved it. But it was the propaganda playing to the libertarians’ fear & paranoia that blew the whole deal.

  82. hughster41 Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 – The facts is, we have military abses in 100 countrys and we don’t need them. I talked about vouchers and you went right to home schooling. I don’t know anyone who thinks the earth is 6000 years old, thats just a liberal talking point. The reason we don’t have vochers is because the teachers union has the democrat party in their back pocket. Like I said, the goverment does not need more money, they need to cut spending!

  83. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 where in statement am I incorrect. you contend that government is efficient, so efficient, that its presence in the health care sytem even more will improve and not cause more harm or worsen the situation. You believe goverment is the answer to the problem.

  84. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 You are wrong and what they passed already will not work and you know that and your excuse and theirs will be that it did NOT GO FAR ENOUGH!!!! LOLOL…just like that failed stimulas package!!! It did not spend enough money and that is why it failed? LOLOL..keep believing their Journey, or I should say, dont stop believing? LOL

  85. ImEuanAndIGotsSkeelz Says:

[..YouTube..] hey lori next time you go out bring a claw hammer for all the hipsters please :P also, imagine how awesome things would be if there was like 1% taxes or minimum wage (bear with me), you wouldnt need social security because you would have so much money anyway to pay for it, it would be so easy to get a job because it would be cheaper for employers to hire you, though in the end you’d prolly get an awesome wage because the biz doesnt have a universal shit wage agreed and has to be competative.

  86. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @hughster41 I agree we don’t need 100 foreign military bases. I agree we should cut military spending. That doesn’t mean the money isn’t needed elsewhere. Most people can’t afford private school. Voucher programs are insufficient (& will ultimately require every1 to pay for others anyway). Home schooling is the most obvious alternative & the fact is over 75% of home-schooled kids today are taught creationism & most home-schooling textbooks cater to that demographic. We need academic standards

  87. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE I don’t know what “the problem” is but yes, gov’t is the answer to many problems. Unfortunately, like everything else, it’s far from perfect and progress is made through trial and error. I’m not advocating to let politicians continue wasteful spending. I’m saying we need to keep fighting to ensure they spend wisely, which is an infinitely simpler & better solution than throwing out the baby w/ the bathwater in favor of some far worse libertarian fantasy.

  88. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 well, the hand writing is on the wall, literally. the cbo estimates that our debt percentage will equal our revenue in gdp in ten years or we become greece. the fed reserve chairman is about to go on tv today and say our economy is in dire straits. butttttt, we spent about one trillion for stimulas that did not work, right? did it work? no? why? not big enough? wrong!

  89. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 finally, medicare, social security, and medicade are bankrupt. so, we create more govt spending to help the govt spending to save money. we spend more to save? wow, I have a couple of thousand dollars on a credit card. I need to spend more to save on the other card and fast!!! does common sense ever apply anymore?

  90. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] the resident is still vacant. where are you girl????????????????

  91. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 okay, if a massive earthquake was to hit los angelos tomorrow, where is the money to repair the damages? where? how will that play into the already spent one trillion, almost, for stimulas and the almost one trilllon for health care? We are broke and the shit has not hit the fan in some people’s minds but will very soon and I am not talking about November. You will see and the blame game will continue. Hello Rome!!! or Hello Huns?

  93. hughster41 Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 -If you take what the public school gets per child per yearand turn it into a voucher. Then a parent could take their child to any school they want and it would be paid for with that voucher, that’s how it would work! “One study (sponsored by the US Department of Education) found that home school student test scores were ‘exceptionally high’ and that the median scores for every grade were much higher than those seen in the public schools.”

  94. paul Says:

Transfering all taxation onto land and natural resource values would resolve the concentration of wealth and political power which is sinking the US as has happened to all empires throughout history. Full info is in the international best seller “Progress and Poverty” by Henry George.

  95. STILLNAKEDBULLWINKLE Says:

    [..YouTube..] where is laura?????????

  96. realman1000000 Says:

[..YouTube..] I can answer that question. Our taxes go straight to the Privately Owned Federal Reserve. Every Dime. Not one penny is used for any Government purpose.

  106. Michaellxxx Says:

[..YouTube..] about you Americans read your own Bill of Rights…you do not have to pay tax…tax is on a voluntary basis…check your own rights for fecks sake…

  107. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] Are you serious? “Tax freedom day”? Wow. Another “freedom fighters” phrase.

  108. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 “Yes, let’s all hang out and enjoy the lovely comforts of Union Square Park, which of course is maintained and kept clean every day by magical elves who work for free while bitching about how our tax dollars are stolen by politicians. Surely none of those taxes go towards that park you take for granted.”Well, wouldn’t it be nice to see how the process goes so it is thus not “taken for granted”?

  109. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @Lisadotcom “arent taxes used to like help build hospitals and shit ? so yeah its good xD”I agree. Let’s defend taxes! Fuck the haters! There is no concievable way to build hospitals and the like without stealing from people! Fucking taxes rock!

  110. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “pretty simple: your taxes go to war.”No they don’t. They go to hospitals and roads, which would never have been built otherwise because the only way to build roads is through the use of taxation. We have so many roads! Where would they find extra money to use on the army? Call me naive, but srsly. Your taxes go to roads. We need roads. You can’t build roads without taxes. And if you don’t like it, you can just go somewhere else. I won’t tolerate your non-tax views.

  111. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @SomethingSeaTrashed You mean like the 12th century? No thank you. Feudalism and land barons weren’t all it was cracked up to be.

  112. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 Wait… are you for or against taxes?

  113. wenzelsopinion Says:

[..YouTube..] @SomethingSeaTrashed have I ever said that taxes are generally wrong? About 60-75% of your taxes go to war wether you like it or not. Your roads are a lot cheaper then you think… btw what do you care, I’m from germany and we pay our taxes for your fucking wars to which we are forced to send you soldiers. Wake up US-Sleeper, wake up.

  114. mjr256 Says:

    [..YouTube..] Yes.

  115. WendyViolet1 Says:

[..YouTube..] I’m surprised no one had ANY idea. Like cops, fireman, clean water, the FDA. anything. Yea, it’s a flawed system and too much of our hard earned cash is waisted but what’s the alternative? I hate that the war is costing so much, thats true, thought Obama would end it. Still hoping. We take a lot for granted as Americans though. Our cherished “way of life” has to come from somewhere

  116. AngelicaLeandra Says:

[..YouTube..] our tax money went to pay for bank bailouts….go figure….

  117. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “Your roads are a lot cheaper then you think… btw what do you care, I’m from germany and we pay our taxes for your fucking wars to which we are forced to send you soldiers. Wake up US-Sleeper, wake up.”Yes, I know the roads are much cheaper than I projected; I was being ironic. I don’t support taxes or wars from the US, thus, it’s not “my” war. I do pay some automatic taxes while working at Subway.

  118. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion (part 2) However, since I am still digesting reality and fear for being able to live, I will not contest those automatic taxes yet. However, I intend to ignore the tax thing for the annual and probably will be put in jail for that.

  119. wenzelsopinion Says:

[..YouTube..] @SomethingSeaTrashed ok, I don’t know how you tax-sytem works, but I wanted to tell how I think would be a nice start.Taxes in general are necessary, therefore someone (most likely the government) will have to collect them. There are useful taxes, which support social equality without destabilizing the market, and there are stupid ones, which charge the same on everybody. The Income-tax should start at an annual income of more then 10000$ per head feeding from this. Meaning 40k$/y for 4 people.

  120. wenzelsopinion Says:

[..YouTube..] @SomethingSeaTrashed (part2) It should then increase up to 75% if you earn more then 1M/y. And a market-tax (on wall-street etc.) should be introduced at a rate of 1+%, this would give your country an unbelievable amount of money.

  121. UbinTimor Says:

[..YouTube..] very true, this “war” is costing way too much. And it certainly is surprising that a lot of people don’t know that things like schools (public), libraries, ect are funded by tax payer money. I think Obama will at least try to end the war. He’s under a lot of political pressure from the rich people who are profiting off the lost lives of the soldiers, but I think it will end soon. It has to end soon..

  122. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “Taxes in general are necessary, therefore someone (most likely the government) will have to collect them.”Why are taxes necessary? It is necessary to force someone to give you money to them provide them with services that they may not want? Could you explain your logic?

  123. wenzelsopinion Says:

[..YouTube..] @SomethingSeaTrashed well, do you want streets? do you want border security? do you want firefighters? do you want public parks? do you want someone to do diplomacy for you? do you want public schools? do you want…?

  124. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion And how are taxes necessary for these things? If I want streets, I’ll pay someone (or a collective of people will pay) over a short or long period of time, or perhaps someone will make a toll street of some sort. Do I want border security? I have no idea. How does this relate to taxes? Do I want someone to do diplomacy for me? No. Do I want public schools? No, but others do, and so they will, accordingly, pay for them. Yet, I am also paying for them via taxes.

  125. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “…streets…border security…firefighters…public parks…diplomacy…public schools…etc…” How are taxes necessary for having these things? If people want them they will pay for them voluntarily. If they don’t, they won’t. Taxes are not voluntary. That’s my irk. Now how can these things not be done (assuming that people want them done and agree to them being done) without taxation?

  126. wenzelsopinion Says:

[..YouTube..] @SomethingSeaTrashed if you want to have you streets maintained you’ll have to pay for it anyhow. By having a government taking care of maintenance you save the time you’d otherwise need to organize. Just one example. Who would pay freely for parks or police? etc. but believe whatever you want. Without the fundamental structure of a country – payed with taxes – the country just wouldn’t exist.

  127. Michaellxxx Says:

[..YouTube..] one of your countries amendments state thats ***the paying of tax should be up to the individual ….you dont have to pay tax….read your *bill of rights for fucks sake.

  128. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “if you want to have you streets maintained you’ll have to pay for it anyhow.”And, what? I agree. This can be done without taxation. ‘But people won’t pay for roads!’ Well, I guess they (we) don’t value them as much as we thought. Would you rather pay taxes and have some of it go to roads and much of it to Lord-knows-where, or pay for roads directly, have no taxes, and know where your money is going?

  129. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “By having a government taking care of maintenance you save the time you’d otherwise need to organize.”Yes, and this could be done also by some company of your choice, without the coercion. The added benefit is that you can choose which company you like, and you can even choose whether or not you even want roads.

  130. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] “Who would pay freely for parks or police?”Well, that would depend on who values them enough to pay for them. If that’s not many people, then why are these things that are over-valued… existing?”etc. but believe whatever you want.”Well, likewise. Though when you start interfering with my life because of the existence of taxation, then it becomes something that I talk about with people, such as yourself, since I would like to revise this meme.

  131. SomethingSeaTrashed Says:

[..YouTube..] @wenzelsopinion “Without the fundamental structure of a country – payed with taxes – the country just wouldn’t exist.”Well, I think America could exist without taxation. Would you like to discuss taxation further, perhaps over PM? Have you heard of the user fringeelements? A lot of the stuff I’m talking with you about originates from watching his videos.

  132. AztlanMeansWhiteLand Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 The Industrial Revolution is the real reason why things have changed from Feudalism.Because Technology increased production & With a decrease in the amount of time & work needed. In many ways Exessive Taxes are detrimental to produciton.

  133. AztlanMeansWhiteLand Says:

[..YouTube..] @mjr256 If Schools were Privitized the Price of Private schools would come down signfiicantly. As is some Religious schools are probably cheaper than the damn Local Property taxes you pay for these FAILING schools.

  134. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @AztlanMeansWhiteLand Actually, there were numerous factors that ended feudalism centuries before the Industrial Revolution, not least of which was trade opportunities created in the Crusades, the transition from land-based economy to money, the increasing value of labor due to Black Death population reduction, peasant revolts, renting land decreasing the rights & responsibilities of lords, & most importantly the establishment of centralized gov’t. The Indust. Rev. wasn’t until the 18-19th C.

  135. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] @AztlanMeansWhiteLand “If Schools were Privitized the Price of Private schools would come down signfiicantly.”Probably true. There’s just no reason to assume they’d have solid educational standards w/o a public option. You’d also still be keeping most of the very poor uneducated, which in turn will almost certainly raise the crime rate dramatically. And if your solution is just going to be vouchers for every1 who can’t afford school, then why not just call it what it is, public education.

  136. mjr256 Says:

[..YouTube..] cont’dThe whole point of a representative democracy is that we get to select the people who are making these decisions. But the people don’t have any say as to who is going to be the CEO of a corporation. And it will be that person’s job to do what’s best for the corporation, not what’s best for the people. And as soon as those two goals are in conflict, it’s the corporate interests that will winover the students’ interests because that person has to answer to his or her shareholders.

[..YouTube..] I think most taxes go to pay off debt.. “Everyone’s got a mortgage to pay!” But having enough taxes to pay off your principal America, won’t be that easy (especially since the phenomenon that (filthy) rich people are above the law in the US.. you won’t tax them, because you can’t!)
