Hey, guess what? I don’t like Lady Gaga. Well, that’s not entirely correct: it’s not that I don’t like her, it’s that I don’t think she is deserving of the attention she is getting/amount of music she is selling.
I don’t know her personally; maybe she is a nice girl. And given the fact that many of my friends are dark-haired girls who went to NYU, there’s a chance I would get along with her just fine.
I don’t know the (ahem) breadth of her music, either. I only know the ridiculous dance songs she’s made that stores and radio stations seem to play nonstop.
The little I do know, though, I don’t like. Maybe it’s because I’ve been on this planet long enough to not be sold this old bill of goods. In my lifetime, I’ve already seen enough fame-driven < ahref=twitter.com/parishilton>humans profess to be artists and try to shock people into buying their shitty “art.” This is what this Lady is doing, thus rendering her shocking tactics as anything BUT shocking in my book.
It’s not even the fame-driven part that bugs me – to each their own – it’s the posing as goddam ARTISTS that drives me nuts.
Crazy clothing and hats?!?!?!?! Sexual rumors?!?! Uh….even crazier hats?!?!?! I’m shocked! OK not really.
The only thing shocking about this Lady is that anyone is actually buying this old hat of a routine.
Aside from disliking the stupid “shocking” routine, I also dislike the stupid music. It is awful from all sides. The music, the lyrics, the over-production – it’s just awful. It’s the same pop crap with more effects. And embarrassingly juvenile lyrics.
So…it’s not that I don’t like Stefani Germanotta, it’s that I don’t like the contrived marketing ploy that is Lady Gaga. More than anything, it’s the stupidity that she puts out there in the name of art.
Hence, Missy Maw Maw. Enjoy.

The vast majority of humans share the same basic psychology. Therefore beauty is not completely relative, and it’s not just anything that can be art, no matter how much you wish it could.

Personally I love Lady Gaga. She’s the biggest thing since MC Hammer. In the 80s we had Prince, Michael Jackson and Madonna. Nothing much since. She’s revitalized pop.
Lady Gaga mightn’t be doing anything particulalry new, but she is re-inventing something for a new audience.
Of course it’s marketing. She is brilliant at marketing herself. If you don’t like it, turn the radio off or go an listen to middle-of-the-road blah on another station.
She’s created a buzz and everyone is talking about her. Basically you are saying everyone is stupid for being sucked in … that would therefore make Lady Gaga smarter than us.
I am sure there are a great number of artists who have been too provocative or in-your-face for many; Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali etc. Some love them, others dismiss them or even get so worked up about it they make stupid videos to say how bollocks they think that person is.
Whatever way you look at it, love or hate it, Lady Gaga is doing exactly what she set out to do.
The rest of us will just slip by unnoticed …

[..YouTube..] Keep it comin’! Please do another performance like “Cuerpo Sin Alma”. That was amazing. I remember seeing that over a year ago, maybe two, yet it’s still fresh in my mind. Ha ha. Maybe that’s because I go back and watch it again every so often. Everyone… search for “theresident Cuerpo Sin Alma”. Good stuff!
