For years, you guys have been asking me to cover the legalization of marijuana in the US as an issue. I haven’t done it yet because to me, it all seems very obvious. Weed is illegal because of money. It HAS to be. There is no other good explanation. And I think it SHOULD be legal. Have you ever gotten mugged by a raging pothead? Have you ever seen a pothead go on an angry gun spree? No. Potheads are nonviolent. They just like to eat a lot of crappy food and sit around. So let them! It’s sure as heck not as dangerous as alcohol, this weed. And of course there are a grillion practical applications for hemp, like an excellent food source, biodegradable options for material goods, fuels, etc. Honestly, it just seems like such a no brainer: weed should be legal, and it’s not because there is no financial gain in it for the government or powers that influence the government. But then recently I was sitting around eating Funions watching TV and wondering just why exactly weed became illegal in the first place? Now that was much more interesting to me. So of course finding an unbiased source for this information was incredibly difficult, because people who want weed legal are impassioned about it and tend to write out facts and angry commentary together. They can’t seem to separate the two. And every conspiracy theorist was absolutely sure that THEIR theory was the right one, while all the rest were pure bunk. Which I’m sure will be the case in the comments for this video over on YouTube. The bottom line though is that, probably weed became illegal for a little bit of all the nasty reasons, which I outline for you in this video. And until a nice little perfect storm of finances, culture, and entrepreneurship comes along again, chances are weed will remain illegal in the United States. Boo. Hoo.

Virtually every pot smoker I encounter can’t handle daily realities. In the end it does’nt matter to them if they made a promise cause they light up again and stick with those who also are dependent on Pot to self medicate.

it seems to me like it wouldn’t be legalized because the new generation (d.a.r.e. and above the influence) have scared the population into never trying marijuana and assuming it’s highly addictive and you become a very shady and unintelligent person after smoking it.don’t get me wrong though, i’m all for legalization

I disagree respectively, thought the dare programs and above the influence claim they do a grand job of pushing kids away from drugs it still doesnt hide then fact that kids are still doing it no matter what propaganda is thrown their way. Generation Z is a growing smoking marijuana culture that is only going to increase in the years to come and will hopefuilly see marijuana legalized in the next ten years.

Well they are never gonna profit much off it because it isnt physically addictive, but it can be mentally addictive in the same way that anything else could be. Also since everyone can grow it in there backyards they aint gonna be making these big tax bucks that people say they will be. We can always dream though.

Now you’re talking!! CHeck out the Project Censored website and its 25 most censored stories of 2008. The Govt. broke all records with marijuana arrests last year. Also, did you know that the USA has more people locked up than any other country? Not only percentage wise, but total amount of people. IN fact, if you combine CHina, India, and Russia, you get 2.3 Billion people. THE USA has 300 mil, yet we have more locked up than all of those 3 countries combined!! Half are non-violent drug arrests

Way to go overboard with the comparison. USA could follow China’s example and start killing the prisoners for whatever reason.If all else fails you can always follow their examples of no publicity at all about the administration and start giving wrong statistics for the world. It always works as you can tell. USA has a lot of prisoners because it has strong law enforcement. Maybe you should come down to Brazil to know what permissive drug policy looks like.

Hey let’s be real. Why are all of the potheads ive known over the years 99% unaccountable for so much of their mood swings and actions ? There’s no one more passionate than a regular pot smoker about the issue of making pot legal. And yet that person can’t even remember 1/10th of the promises they broke or things they forgot cause they constantly need to escape reality.

growers permits and large fines for not acquiring one would be a way to control that, on top of the fact that if they pull taxes for over the counter sales like tobacco and drive the cost per weight way down and less people would grow it, when they can get it cheap enough they won’t bother.

if you cannot control your intake of stimulants it is not up to the government to do it for you… gain some flippin control, if you can’t have a beer without having 23 of them, you shouldn’t drink so stop.if you can’t smoke weed without getting so stoned you can’t function don’t smoke.and if you can’t control yourself don’t make excuses, i’m not aiming this at you, but rather towards the type of people as you were speaking about in that car accident.

actually if you do your research you’ll find that lung cancer has never been linked to the use of MJ, and there are some scientific studies to the theory as to why but i’ll leave that for you to discover for yourself.

finally somebody finally gets the history ,instead of just talking shit! ! it was actually manditory to grow in some states if you wanted to live there you had to be a grower,even the army was campaigning for us to grow cannabis for rope and other army supplies before hanslinger came in to office, he had his own problems!

Marijuana and other illegal drugs have a way of altering thought patterns which causes people to sometimes question what is happening to them. The government and big corporations usually do lots of rotten things especially to working poor people. The government wants obedient workers paying taxes and dying before they reach retirement age. Alcohol and cigarettes will likely kill you before you can retire. They know this.
