You Are Currently Watching: NYC Blizzard Does Not Disprove Climate Change

Many people think that, because it SNOWED for a day in FEBRUARY in New York City, global warming is a farce. Most of those people are conspiracy theorists. Some of them are confused. And some of them have high-profile jobs in the media. Unlike me, who just ekes out a living trying to find some sense in the world. My stance on this issue is and always has been: we are being slobs on the planet, regardless of climate issues, and we should clean up our act no matter what. Here’s a piece of that now, folks! Be sure to check out RT’s site, too!

  1. jesperlett Says:

[..YouTube..] Global temperature readings show that January 2010 is the warmest January in 32 years. So the way FOX News use local weather phenomenons to spur doubts about global warming is as ridiculous as one could expect from them. As the youtube science journalist, potholer54, sarcastically puts it: “Here’s how scientists work: they open their window, if it’s cold outside they conclude that the earth is cooling down, if it’s hot outside they conclude it warming up” :)

  2. ROLLGRAB Says:

[..YouTube..] Thats funny Antarctica has had the coldest decade in 100 years
You fucking people are nuts if you think we, insignificant ants can alter or change the way the Earth is moving…

  3. ROLLGRAB Says:

[..YouTube..] We are moving headong into what is coming which of you knows where that may be. People need to understand… both sides have not nearlky enough statistical data to prove or disprove this shit. Now it is “global wierding, huh”?

  4. CommentorX Says:

[..YouTube..] Global warming is only a problem for the summertime. See me in the summer.

  5. bikenik Says:

[..YouTube..] Hey, I think I saw Bode Miller doing a downhill training run on that pile of snow behind the Resident.

  6. ROLLGRAB Says:

[..YouTube..] Lets look at statistics a little bit… you need a popultaion (of years) so great we have not been on this planet long enough (even if we recorded all of history) to gather enough data to make an informed statement either way. THOUGH I BELIEVE GOD (MOTHER NATURE FOR YOU NONBELIEVERS) WILL HAVE HUMANS HERE AS LONG AS IS DEEMED FIT, AFETR THAT WHO THE FUCK CARES?????????

  7. Steenville Says:

[..YouTube..] Warmest January in history.. not here in Denmark, though. We had the coldest January in over 2 decades.. I always wonder what people mean when they say we have to “do” something about global warming- oh sorry, now it is called “climate change”.. because it always seems to be about bringing on new taxes..

  8. theresident Says:

[..YouTube..] I’m sure there will be a story about it then, too. :)

  9. Metroid02099 Says:

[..YouTube..] I’m with the first lady, THIS proves Global Warming, or by a more proper name than that so as to avoid confusion, Climate Change is real!

  10. KurzLuppii Says:

    [..YouTube..] @Metroid02099

Dont forget that over a hundred years ago we got similar snow fall in DC. Its all within the realm of possiblity and does not equal global warming.

You shouldn’t base storms as proof of global warming or no global warming.

  11. KurzLuppii Says:

    [..YouTube..] @theresident

Hopefully more studies that don’t come from the IPCC will come to surface. Though I don’t hold my breath.

  12. KurzLuppii Says:

[..YouTube..] Exactly, however don’t forget about the money involved in supporting AGW. (AGW = Man made global warming.)

  13. RAMKING61 Says:

[..YouTube..] Scientists that believe in ‘Global Warming’ have been PAID OFF by Goldman Sachs. The whole ‘Global Warming’ idea was created by Goldman Sachs in order to pass ‘Cap & Trade’ – which turns it into a commodity that Goldman Sachs controls. Read the July issue of Rolling Stone if you doubt it.
Then take a science class: plants take in the carbon dioxide humans breathe out…and vice versa. Plant life would FLOURISH if it were true…but it isn’t.
Air is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% argon.

  14. jsebastianfilms Says:

[..YouTube..] How come nobody talks about the sun as a factor of global warming? I guess it because it doesn’t support taxing and controlling you and me. Do you know what “Cap and Trade” is? It is when you sell your carbon credits to bigger polluters like oil companies and manufacturing countries like China to continue to do what they are doing. They buy your carbon credits and then they magically become “carbon neutral”. Your energy bill goes up twice or some est. 4-fold. Wake up people.

  15. RAMKING61 Says:

    [..YouTube..] Yes.
The sunspots on the sun affect the oceans. The oceans are 75% of the planet and they, in turn, affect the atmosphere.

  16. ImEuanAndIGotsSkeelz Says:

[..YouTube..] the first woman you interviewed got it spot on, the whole “it cant be globul warmin cuz it snowd” thing is such a simple minded argument.

  17. psp785 Says:

[..YouTube..] earthquakes is because of tectonic plate movements not climate change LMAO

  18. psp785 Says:

[..YouTube..] i’m not totally convinced of global warming all look at statistics tempatures vary all the time but at the same time I know that the polar ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising by like 1cm a year and more storms

….. i’m kinda on the fence on the topic

  19. RedWhiteandBetrayed Says:

[..YouTube..] Global Warming = NO FUCKING WAY IM PAYING YOU ANY MORE TAXES – BITCHES !!!

  20. webovisionca Says:

[..YouTube..] People are so %$^^*#! stupid!!
These interviews seem selected. Big coal companies run everything… sure

  21. dudeglove Says:

[..YouTube..] Only one foot of snow? Pfft.

  22. Metroid02099 Says:

[..YouTube..] Look at the last few years, climates have change to higher and lower temps progressively. Plus the fact that it happened over hundred years ago and now happens again proves that the climate has changed significantly to reach such a amount. I’m just looking at what my eyes can see.

  23. DecentralizedByGuilt Says:

[..YouTube..] Everyone talks about and knows that the sun plays a factor. and everyone talks about and knows (unless they’re really stupid) that man’s pollutants in the air don’t allow the sun light particles to reflect and leave, making them trapped. and this is accelerating the already warming the sun causes. Cap and trade is a farce, buts it all we have.

  24. DecentralizedByGuilt Says:

[..YouTube..] I say don’t trade with anyone that cannot follow the emission laws. I’d also say the US shouldn’t be trading with any nation that does not buy an equal amount of our products, and allows the US to buy up the world’s resources for a paper debt that will never be paid. We must have fair equal balanced trade. We can not bubble up the world’s economy. we owe trillions to foreign central banks for our unbalanced trading. This causes our own inflation. And why is it that you tools for oil, war,

  25. DecentralizedByGuilt Says:

[..YouTube..] and the banks, never suggest solutions like geothermal advanced systems can bring clean energy to most any place in the world. That we like breathing clean air. We want electric cars and geothermal systems, not tax rebates! wake up!

  26. AugustusLarch Says:

[..YouTube..] Global warming is a carefully designed mind loop to keep people grinding against empty issues.

Human beings don’t have much of an impact outside the citys. There’s a lot more un-inhabited country than people realize, much more recently.

People who promote that global warming is real have a nefarious alterior motive, consider.

  27. natedogs212 Says:

[..YouTube..] I think you are assuming a lot of things about global warming in this video.

  28. thejobloshow Says:

    [..YouTube..] So she’s Russian today?

  29. quixgofar Says:

[..YouTube..] Good to see you’re back to your normal look again!!

  30. robertpina99 Says:

[..YouTube..] What don’t you understand? The scientists LIED.

  31. rattaplan Says:

[..YouTube..] People who now dismiss global warming, because of the current winter, must lack long-term memory faculties. Politicians will love you!

  32. TheGiantRobot Says:

[..YouTube..] How is it the amount of mercury found in fish has tripled in the last twenty years, everywhere, not just close to cities? That’s an awful lot of water we are not having an impact on.

Could it be the estimated 90 tons of mercury dentists use per year actually affects the environment? Or the estimated 5,000 tons of mercury from fossil fuels?

That’s just mercury. That’s not even talking about the billions of tons of carbon per year, clear cutting of forests, and so on.

  33. TheGiantRobot Says:

[..YouTube..] The ice age isn’t in recession, we are long overdue for the next ice age. That’s how serious our impact on the environment has been.

  34. Fringe111 Says:

    [..YouTube..] No they didn’t.

  35. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] All the scientists in the world are lying, robertpina99?

All the academies of science in the world are wrong?

    LOL

    Have a little faith, Robert.

  36. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] tepidarium,

You’re talking about all the climatologists in the world working together to hide the truth.

That’s a conspiracy theory. And it’s more absurd than most conspiracy theories.

Scientists don’t conspire to hide the truth. They look at the data. The international scientific consensus now is that the global warming we’re seeing was caused by CO2 released by human activities.

  37. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] People who are obsessed with Al Gore have been hypnotized by the Republican media, which does the bidding of Big Oil.

Do Bush and Cheney have any connection to Big Oil? That’s the conspiracy conspiracy theorists should be obsessing over.

Who’s trying to “get rich”? The oil companies.

  38. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] jackson32,

The only forces trying to corrupt science are the tobacco companies and the oil companies.

Which is why we should never make the mistake of trying to leave the funding of scientific research up to the private sector.

  39. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] It’s time to stop polluting our air and water and it’s time to stop drowning the polar bears. And the dirtiest fuel of all is nuclear energy, because we still haven’t found a way to dispose of nuclear waste and we never will. It burns and kills forever and could probably be used by terrorists.

We already have clean energy sources.

And the movement of the air and water and wind produce an amount of energy that is almost literally infinite.

Let’s make clean energy sources too cheap to meter.

  40. tonyrueb Says:

[..YouTube..] one storm is not enough to conclude that the snow fall is because of global warming.

  41. tonyrueb Says:

[..YouTube..] you state your opinion as fact, can you produce records that they where paid off. also the air does have 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, however it does not contain that much argon, argon is a trace particle, less than 1/100 of a percent. the 1 percent is a mixture of a lot of different things mostly water vapor, and CO2.

  42. tepidarium Says:

    [..YouTube..] @RI
You assume that all climatologists are in agreement. They are not, and you can’t prove they are.

By merely repeating your myth (your sweeping generalization about scientists and “academies”) you won’t convince anybody.

  43. audadvnc Says:

[..YouTube..] Snow, schmow. Eh, here in Minnesota we got snow. But we don’t have Lori! Yay Resident!

  44. RAMKING61 Says:

[..YouTube..] The final 1% is made up of several trace elements, but argon is the largest.
Professor Phil Jones admitted this week that there has been no significant rise in temperature since 1995 and that it was warmer in medieval times. Jones was the central scientific character in the whole ‘global warming’ nonsense.
Please, read July issue Rolling Stone.

  45. freefromantics Says:

[..YouTube..] Climate change does seem to be happening, but nothing that the world has never experienced before…Ice Age anyone? Scientists are at odds over how our planet is changing or not changing, either way we could be a lot worse off/we could be seeing natural change. Stopping pollution is not a sure way to make the climate not change…if it is going to change regardless…

  46. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] tepidarium,

There is scientific consensus among climatologists. That’s how science works. There are always cranks who object to the scientific consensus. Somewhere there is probably a scientist who doesn’t believe in evolution.

    But the evidence is overwhelming.

The question is not whether global warming is man-made but what is the least expensive way to stop it.

We need to invest in clean energy generation that doesn’t burn fossil fuels.

  47. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Have you read this entire page?

    en.wikipedia . org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change

    This is the list.

There is international consensus within the scientific community that the CO2 that causes all of the weird weather is coming from human activity.

  48. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] freefromantics,

Weather is a rough sine wave but sine waves don’t always oscillate around the same axis. They can trend up or down.

People are happy with the weather the way it is. They don’t want bigger floods and hurricanes and rising oceans destroying coastal communities.

Have a little faith in science.

  49. robertpina99 Says:

[..YouTube..] On a lighter note, this cold weather means that fur is making a high-profile comeback at New York’s Fashion Week–a parade of fashon shows that kicked off Thursday.

  50. freefromantics Says:

[..YouTube..] I didn’t mean to come off as though I don’t have faith in science, but when there are not scientists who can agree that climate change really exists…all I see is a planet that is going through regular change but we as the inhabitants don’t like the change. Same thing goes for other things, if 2 sides can’t even get science reports to say the say things…then why would we agree?

  51. tepidarium Says:

    [..YouTube..] @AugustusLarch
The presence of global warming profiteers and prominent liars ought to tell people something, but most people never put 2 and 2 together and they certainly don’t listen. They have an emotion and can’t be bothered to think logically.

  52. forestfeanor Says:

[..YouTube..] GLOBAL WARMING IS A LIE

designed to take our rights away and impose taxes to destroy the competition for the elites.

Carbon is insignificant in the grand scheme.

IF THE GOVT. CARED ABOUT THE EARTH THEY WOULD STOP DUMPING TOXIC WASTE IN THE RIVERS AND DEFORESTATION

Instead they choose to put at tax on Co2, a chemical we exhale and trees need.

It is purely to enhance their tyranny.

  53. tepidarium Says:

[..YouTube..] A list of scientists who oppose the global warming hypothesis:

    en.wikipedia. org /wiki/List_of_scientists_opposing_the_mainstream_scientific_assessment_of_global_warming

  54. hyperion311 Says:

[..YouTube..] yes thats ture, but it seems to me that focusing more on renewable resources AND the whole consumerism thing would be a good idea. But i feel that it would be awfully hard for the government to do much about culture. I mean yeah they can help but in the mean time i think they should focus on the application of new technologies and the source of the problem.

  55. hyperion311 Says:

[..YouTube..] yes, but its still only febuary, we had some in april last year..

  56. tepidarium Says:

    [..YouTube..] @hyperion311
We also need to remember that the US and Canadian governments are largely controlled by corporations. So unless you know a government “solution” is OK’d by people who are vetted as independent and reliable, you have to assume it is another false solution (like homeland security, the Iraq invasion and banker bailouts) that profit the corporations at the expense of taxpayers. Any real solution for any problem needs to be grass roots based, like carpooling, or local, like recycling.

  57. ant1i0n Says:

[..YouTube..] Global Warming is very real indeed. However, human activity contributes to about 3% of all carbon emissions per year. We can’t prevent global warming. What we need to do is adapt so that we are ready for the effects of it.

  58. paultheuglydog Says:

[..YouTube..] I don’t believe in global warming. That is why I leave all of my lights, tv, radio, and computer on 24 hours a day. I leave the water running while brushing my teeth, shaving, and washing dishes. I litter all of the time too. I waste tons of gas too. If you want to yell at me, my email is slouchypaul @ yahoo . com without spaces.

  59. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] tepidarium,

Science is the standard of truth.

There is no unanimity among scientists on ANY issue. The issue is settled when there is scientific consensus, which there is.

If you are honestly committed to the truth, stop telling scientists to pour all their energy into proving GW/GCC and tell them to start trying to disprove it.

Which is what scientists ordinarily do.

    They gather data.

Meanwhile, the rest of us have to focus on reducing greenhouse gases.

  60. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] AugustusLarch,

Big Oil doesn’t profit if we stop buying oil. It loses. And so do those who are financing the terrorists.

I’m not even sure all of the propaganda is financed by Big Oil and the RNC. I think some of it is just the right-wing doing everything it can to divide America and cause chaos.

Like Bin Laden, they want America to fail.

  61. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] And the planet WILL be here long after we’re all dead.

When people say they’re trying to save the planet, what they really mean is that they’re trying to save us. It’s just a turn of phrase that makes it cuter and less terrifying.

We don’t have to terrify each other. All we have to do is stop destroying the biosphere.

  62. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Three hundred years ago, the whole frickin’ COUNTY was a national park.

The trendline is going in the wrong direction.

What do we want America to look like 300 years from now?

  63. TheGiantRobot Says:

[..YouTube..] Oh, I see, you’re just making shit up.

The coal industry downplays mercury in the environment, the bulb industry in the CFL bulbs, the fishing industry downplays mercury in the fish, the dental industry downplays the harm of it in fillings – just what lobby is so powerful that they overcame all of those and got the fda to “fudge” that our fish have 3x the mercury and our oceans 130% the mercury they had just twenty years ago?

  64. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] tepidarium,

“OPPOSING the mainstream scientific assessment of global warming”

In other words, the scientific consensus is that global climate change is real.

    And caused by human activity.

In science, being in the mainstream is actually a good thing.

  65. tepidarium Says:

    [..YouTube..] @ReliableInsider
The majority of scientists used to think that smoking is healthy.
Your problem is that you have faith in scientists, and faith is un-scientific.

  66. tepidarium Says:

    [..YouTube..] @ReliableInsider
The scientific process is the standard of truth, but it doesn’t apply to climate. Climate is purely observational.
If you were a scientist you’d already know this, but you aren’t.
You’re operating on faith and ignorance.

  67. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] tepidarium,

    Being impolite doesn’t accomplish anything.

There are presumably a thousand factors that make the atmosphere warmer or cooler. Someone should be working on the question of whether there are other human-induced factors that will have an even bigger impact than CO2.

The goal is to keep the temperature where it is right now at minimal cost.

  68. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] tepidarium,

If you don’t want scientists to do the science, what other group of people should be doing it?

    Oil company executives?

Scientific inquiry continues regardless of what you and I say on YouTube and Global Climate Change continues whether or not scientists gather the data.

  69. KillJesus Says:

[..YouTube..] I am not sure that humans are causing global warming. Maybe it is methane from cows. Maybe it is something else (wink wink). I do not know nor do I pretend to know. I am not a scientist, but I can see the obvious effects of global warming. Some people (mostly from the right) deny that anything is happening and have dismissed Al Gore off as foolish if not stupid.

  70. KillJesus Says:

[..YouTube..] All religious leaders are criminal. It is the nature of the business.

  71. KillJesus Says:

    [..YouTube..] Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  72. QuitePossiblyANinja Says:

[..YouTube..] even if you dont believe in global warming, doing all that must cost you a fortune when the bills come.

  73. MadBadVoodo Says:

[..YouTube..] Global Warming is BS just follow the money!

  74. MadBadVoodo Says:

[..YouTube..] @ReliableInsider Hell I just want the scientists 2 stop cooking the books!

  75. wenzelsopinion Says:

[..YouTube..] If you want prove for or against climate change, just have a look at the disappearance of the numbers that where supposed to prove climate change to be true and have a look at the NASA articles telling about climate change throughout the solar system.

  76. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] People don’t think for themselves anymore.

All I hear from people is regurgitated junk. I’ve heard the same theory about increased moisture in the atmosphere causing heavy snow fall at least 15 times from various sources and she blabs on like she has any authority on the subject because she read some columnists piece.

Canada is struggling to run the Winter Olympics right now because of a lack of snow in a mega moisturized atmosphere from increased temperatures.

    COME ON PEOPLE, think bigger.

  77. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] MadBadVoodo,

There’s no evidence that anyone cooked the books.

A scientist is not like a Congressman who gets all his money from Big Oil and Big Tobacco. Scientists just do their job. The only ones who have been bought off, in fact, are those that are *funded* by the oil companies and the tobacco companies.

There is literally no way to convince all the climate scientists in the world to “cook the books”. Scientists get credit when they disprove each other. It’s a self-correcting system.

  78. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Follow the money and it all leads back to the oil and coal industries.

Why do the billionaire heirs of oil and coal fortunes not believe in global climate change? Why do you think?

  79. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] LooseLatitude,

It’s fluid dynamics. Fluid dynamics are complicated.

A rise in temperature changes wind patterns. It’s the national wind patterns that determines whether any particular neighborhood will have freezing cold air coming down from Canada or hot moist air coming up from the Gulf of Mexico.

In other words, 51% of the world ends up hotter and 49% of the world ends up colder than it otherwise would have been.

  80. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Fossil fuels are for dinosaurs. China would love it if we stick with 19th century technology and give them a chance to catch up to us and surpass us in creating energy for the 21st century.

I don’t know whether the lack of snow at the Winter Olympics is due to global climate change, but it’s certainly possible.

Anecdotal evidence is fun. But the real science is being done by the scientists. And what they’re finding isn’t fun at all.

  81. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] Where does the percentages come from?

  82. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] What’s the difference between real science and just normal science?

Who are these real scientists? Are normal scientists below them or something? I’m confused, please elaborate.

What are these above scientists real scientists finding that isn’t fun at all? A critical public?

  83. teachtruth2U Says:

[..YouTube..] is mohamad a mass murderer or rapist?

  84. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] They aren’t literal percentages. They are a colloquial way of expressing it, which is probably pretty close to the reality.

  85. filemonthecat Says:

[..YouTube..] Just to add my 2 cents to the debate :) AFAIK, China is now the leading manufacturer & user of “green” energy sources, and in fact far ahead of the USA is this respect. But the real problem lies elsewhere: there are really underdevelopped regions in the world (like parts of Africa) that need reliable, efficient and cheap sources of energy to develop & improve the life standards, and the whole climate change argument, whether true or false, denies them those very sources.

  86. filemonthecat Says:

[..YouTube..] And while introducing greener energy sources is important, how do you imagine powering a steel mill with a solar panel? Or a national railway system? As of today it can only be done with coal & oil, and nobody (like IMF) is going to lend you the money to raise a coal power plant because of the whole global warming controversy.
Anyway, as I see it, we need to balance the way we handle this issue, because global warming really means lots of unnecessary suffering – not tomorrow, but right here&now.

  87. MissTeenNottingham Says:

[..YouTube..] ‘Global Weirding’ — very good

  88. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Obama’s goal is to prevent global warming in the least expensive way possible.

Unfortunately, one of his suggestions is even worse than global warming: nuclear energy, which produces dirty wastes that can literally never be disposed of.

Instead of exploring all the dirty ways to produce energy, it’s time we invest in discovering some methods that are 100% clean and are cheap or free.

  89. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Anyone who assumes you have to pollute our children’s air and water in order to produce an infinite amount of energy should go to the beach.

There is enough energy in the waves bobbing up and down to power the entire world.

We’re surrounded by energy. We just have to stop letting corporations decide how we tap into it. They are only interested in old-fashioned expensive monopolies like oil.

  90. renegade2142 Says:

[..YouTube..] Source of global warming is the sun and ocean currents. Humans produce pollution. That cannot be denied. The fight against pollution must continue. But fighting against C02 is ridiculous. Every human produces c02. The majority of all living organisms produce c02. To fight against the production of c02 is to fight for the destruction of all life. Global warming is the excuse for the rich to take more of our rights away from us. It is the new terrorism. Fight the green police people.

  91. llarzelere Says:

[..YouTube..] The earth is at the end of a long mini-ice age. Of course it’s going to get warmer! While we have been letting the USA haters and petty progressive politics control the energy debate, the FRENCH have been converting most of their electric power to clean, reliable atomic power. We need to catch up to their percentage of nuclear power, and we need to have it done by last week.

  92. skoob6969 Says:

[..YouTube..] this is evidence that people are left out of the equation of economic and environmental progress.

The media will keep focusing on issues that only TV watchers will engage when the issues of our communities are left to chance.

Are we a nation of people or a nation of special interest.

Right now corporations are looking at all these people saying, they will never organize and have a voice.

  93. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] LOL, you sound like Michael Beschloss on Obama’s IQ.

  94. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] I think Africa should worry more about China sacking their natural resources than energy.

  95. LooseLatitude Says:

    [..YouTube..] What have you invested?

  96. LooseLatitude Says:

    [..YouTube..] What about marine life?

  97. raz0rsvids Says:

[..YouTube..] And corps. peddling in carbon credits aren’t in it for the money? Please. It’s about money on both sides, incl. the scientists (they want more grant money to do more research). It has always been about money and how to get more of it.

  98. raz0rsvids Says:

[..YouTube..] Scientists just do their job? Have you not been watching the news? One of the lead CRU scientists up and admitted they can’t prove global warming. The hockey stick graph has been shown to be bunk. All because the data had been cooked.

  99. sakkurae Says:

[..YouTube..] global warming is fake and all about money

  100. raz0rsvids Says:

[..YouTube..] I live in a huricane zone. Haven’t seen a major cane in about 6 years, even though scientists/climatologists predicted there would be more storms and they would be of greater severity. Instead the opposite has taken place.

Show a little skepticism in science.

  101. stinky125 Says:

    [..YouTube..] GW is all bullshit

    Has always been bullshit

So much so that now we have ClimateGate

    “Hide the decline”…you betcha

    “The Hockey Stick Theory”….rightyoh

And why is it that a large majority of LibTards embrace GW..???

Because it’s all about control and how Libtards always feel they know best.

  104. sakkurae Says:

  105. sakkurae Says:

  107. luke55664 Says:

[..YouTube..] Professor Richard Lindzen of MIT has published a paper which proves that IPCC models are overstating by 6 times, the relevance of CO2 in Earths Atmosphere. Dr. Lindzen has found that heat is radiated out in to space at a far higher rate than any modeling system to date can account for. Global Warming was always BS. As are those that propagate the theory for a dollar!! Yours and Mine by the by!

[..YouTube..] Just a fact for thought…….85% of all green house gas on the planet is made up of ……………. WATER VAPOR! i.e; CLOUDS!!!! How do we get rid of them? Do we even want to? How about we ask the IPCC leading data annalist Phil Jones who since Copenhagen is now trying to backtrack on his own so called research to save whats left of his reputation. Oh right, the IPCC no longer uses Jone’s data after finding out he manipulated the data. Wake up already people!….You too Lori

    [..YouTube..] ReliableInsider,

I meant that there is no agrarian class anymore. Drive around rural Nebraska, North Dakota, or any midwest state. There are abandonned little farms and towns everywhere. Magpies and voles ane the residents now. The land is in conservation reserve. It’s getting wild and grown over. People overlook this.

  112. AugustusLarch Says:

[..YouTube..] I eat fish all of the time. None of the lakes and rivers I fish are bad. They have warnings for the Red River sometimes. They limit 5 fish per month per person for safty guidelines. 113. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] Yes, Loose,

There’s marine life in the ocean, too.

  114. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] renegade2142,

I don’t think anyone is against the production of CO2. I think what scientists are concerned about is the *over*-production of CO2.

    It’s all about balance.

  115. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] llarzelere,

There’s nothing dirtier than nuclear waste. They still have not come up with a safe way to dispose of it. They’ve been talking about Yucca Mountain for a thousand years and they’ve just decided it’s not going to work.

    That’s not the answer.

  116. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Richard Lindzen is a contrarian.

He also says there is only a weak link between smoking and lung cancer.

The point about contrarians is not that they’re evil. But that they’re in the distinct minority.

The fact that there are individual scientists here and there who object to the international scientific consensus is about the least surprising thing about Global Climate Change.

It is a scientist’s job to be skeptical.

Even when all the evidence points in one direction.

  117. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Are you saying the taxpayers are going to have to invest in research?

Is the private sector completely incapable of doing anything by itself?

If we get beat by the Communist Chinese in developing clean energy, I’m going to strangle somebody.

    We’re losing our edge.

  118. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Humanity is powerful enough to destroy the biosphere.

I assume, we’re smart enough not to.

    Each one, teach one.

  119. luke55664 Says:

[..YouTube..] @ReliableInsider OK tool…..so you have another expert in mind? Richard Lindzen is the foremost climatologist in the world. He is a PHD from MIT….I’m sure he may know more about the subject than you and I. Quite sure. Read the SPPI monthly CO2 report from July 2009. Or did you not read Phil Jone’s own retraction from his own data? But, nonetheless, you go ahead and rely on Al Gore, BHO, Biden, McLame , Moore or any other random law degree/ politician who knows better than an MIT professor..

  120. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] Luke,

    He’s one scientist.

Yes, I do have another expert in mind. In fact, I have a group of them. Here’s the list:

    en.wikipedia . org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change

I don’t understand why people take this stuff so personally. It’s a scientific question. It doesn’t matter what anybody thinks about anybody. We have to find better ways to generate energy than burning coal or building nuclear deathtraps.

  121. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] E-mail the list to all your friends.

    They’ll thank you.

  122. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] I’ll ask you again. What have you invested?

  123. LooseLatitude Says:

    [..YouTube..] Focus.

What impact will wave farms have on marine life?

  124. luke55664 Says:

[..YouTube..] @ReliableInsider He’s the only one who has published his findings to the actual relevance that CO2 is, in fact, not. There are many events throughout our solar system, deep space, and the planet itself that contribute to the global rise in temperatures. The “Green House” theory is just that. Fact is, there is no, and has never been proof that “Warming” i.e. “Climate Change” is anthropogenic. Nothing wrong with wanting clean energy with exception to it’s costs, both economically and fiscally.

  125. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] You’re missing my point.

My point is that the ocean is a source of energy that is effectively infinite.

We are surrounded by sources that are effectively infinite. We don’t have to turn to dirty fuels.

I applaud your concern for coastal marine life. Let’s build the wave farms in the middle of the ocean where, for all I know, they may act as coral reefs and contribute to marine life.

If you feel like having a fight, play video games. I have work to do.

  126. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] Wave farms contribute noise pollution.

I asked because I wanted to see if you knew anything about what you were talking about.

    Clearly no.

  127. washnon Says:

[..YouTube..] Your all retards.Global warming is a way to have global control. And the fucking so called climate scientist work for the global elite who want global control.Kill Zionism that should clean up the world.

  128. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] You mean like the theory of evolution is just that?

I propose we use the least expensive clean energy generation we can discover . . .

but it has to be actually clean.

Fossil fuels and nuclear energy are unclean.

    Anyway, good conversation.

  129. renegade2142 Says:

[..YouTube..] The point I was trying to make is that the green movement has been taken over by bankers and corporations. Climate Change is now just an excuse for the governments of the world (and the banks who own them) to tax us for breathing. It is one more step down the road to serfdom. I”m not trying to deny climate change, I just think it has been over dramatized so the corporate interests can get people to willingly approve of their schemes. Do not trust Al Gore and his friends.

  130. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] But who has the motive to claim that we should ignore the green movement?

    The oil companies do.

So, presumably, the people who are telling you that “bankers have taken over the green movement” are people who are funded ultimately by the oil companies.

There is a big campaign against the green movement. And part of that campaign is to run around spouting conspiracy theories about where the whole idea of Global Climate Change came from.

It came from climate scientists doing their job.

  131. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] LooseLatitude,

I’m for refining existing technologies and discovering new technologies so that we have an infinite supply of clean, inexpensive energy.

It’s not clear what you’re for.

I’m also not sure i understand the anger.

Unless you just like verbal sparring which isn’t interesting. Life’s too short.

  132. ReliableInsider Says:

[..YouTube..] Actually, global warming has nothing to do with global elites wanting control.

It’s just an illustration that we’re bumping up against the upper limits of how much pollution the earth can process in a given year.

The earth is big. But it’s not infinitely big.

Now that we’re changing the temperature of the atmosphere itself, we have an obligation to start acting responsibly to avoid having millions of people die.

  133. luke55664 Says:

[..YouTube..] @ReliableInsider………..You are wrong. lindzen’s study focuses on CO2 and it’s effect on climate!!!…………………..and he is right! You are wrong…………either way take up the debate with him as it is his study not mine………..you Friggin YouTube TROLL!

  134. raz0rsvids Says:

And yet we have record lows this winter, not record highs. Again, you can’t have it both ways. And the hurricanes didn’t move to another area, they just didn’t show up.

  135. raz0rsvids Says:

[..YouTube..] No, I don’t agree with. You have blind faith in science with an agenda. Science is supposed to involve a heavy dose of doubt.

And I haven’t heard bupkis from oil companies. Everything coming out is enviro groups doing the Chicken Little dance.

  137. ReliableInsider Says:

    You have record low temperatures.

Don’t you get it? That is not proof of global warming, but it is interesting anecdotal evidence that supports the claim that there is global climate change happening all across the globe.

  138. raz0rsvids Says:

[..YouTube..] And yet I’ve yet to see, hear, or read any ads coming from big oil saying that AGW is a lie. However, the AGW echo chamber is real noisy.

  139. ReliableInsider Says:

    [..YouTube..] Luke,

The international scientific community is not a YouTube troll.

    LOL

There is no international conspiracy among scientists.

    You point to one scientist.

The rest of the world looks at all the academies of science in the world disagreeing with Lindzen, and they make up their minds for themselves.

I’m sure he’s an interesting character.

Even Phil Jones has stated quote……. ….”There has been no significant temperature increases since 1995″. This was the IPCC’s leading analyst with regard to climate change debate at the UN. Of course it took computer hackers reading his e mails to force this revolutionary opinion of Mr Jones, but hey………better late than never!

  153. raz0rsvids Says:

  155. luke55664 Says:

[..YouTube..] There is a reason the language has changed from “Global Warming” to “Global Climate Change” I guess whichever way the temps go they are covered. Warmer temps………. Yep anthropogenic! Cooler temps……..Yep, Anthropogenic. must be nice to use language that wins the argument either way. ……Does this sound like good science to anyone?

  156. luke55664 Says:

[..YouTube..] @raz0rsvids Irony here is that these are the same people from the 70s that argued the next Ice Age was coming for the same reasons. Then it became Warming, now they are covered either way with Climate Change. What is sad is that they may have been right the first time with falling temps in the not too distant future. Of course neither case has been associated with human activity. But that wont stop them from pushing a political agenda formulated with that in mind regardless.

  157. LooseLatitude Says:

[..YouTube..] No you didn’t. Stop lying.

Energy is not infinite, clean, and inexpensive. It’s fantasizing to say otherwise.

It’s unreasonable to think that into the future our energy needs will stay constant.

Nuclear creates hazardous byproducts. Hazardous chemicals are needed to produce solar panels. You need to destroy mountains to get clean coal. Wind turbines wreak havoc on the local wild life(same with wave energy)…

The cheapest form of energy is oil. The rest are more expensive.

    Stop fantasizing.

    1. refine, or

    2. discover

a process of energy generation that is clean and inexpensive.

    Which is what I said.

I think you’re just pretending not to understand it.

What happened to the phrase “GLOBAL WARMING”? You don’t hear it anymore do you? “CLIMATE CHANGE” is the new catch phrase and is much easier to sell. The earth’s climate has always been changing but now we must be taxed because some people want some money and it’s a good excuse. Are we polluting the earth?…..definitely. Is that what is causing global warming?……jury’s still out.
