I’ve been meaning to do a piece on the hypocrisy of so-called Christians for a while, because I’m REALLY FED UP with people thinking that if they say they’re Christian it means they can act however they want.
It’s the opposite, you hypocrites!
But, being a girl who believes in not throwing stones whilst living in a glass house and all that, I had to make this video first. But now that I did that, I figured it was time to go for it.
So, enjoy this sermon on the green screen where I clearly go for it. NOTE: The southern accent just came out. I am not southern. Apparently my inner preacher is, though.

Kinda cryptic an’ creepy music, Rezzie.
I’ve noticed one thing about someChristians – that they seem to sin all week, hurt/backstab others, then go ta Church on Sunday to be absolved of their sins. Then, they git ta start over again anew as if nothing happened or anythin’ they did wrong is completely forgotten…jus like that, With a magic wand and Zap! They’re completely fresh again! Like a new commercial or TV episode. Great, aint it? Perhaps they don’t notice what they’ve done wrong last week.
Oh well, is the way of their Lord, I guess.
April 30th, 2010 at 3:42 am
[..YouTube..] Amen. Praise Jebus. Did I say that right?I agree with you about people using their faith to justify however they might choose to live; but I don’t think it’s anything new. The only answer is to encourage people to look beyond the Bible for justification – to challenge them to find some other reason not rooted in their faith that their actions can be considered right. From there we can suggest that if there isn’t only; that their faith may be misplaced.

I didn’t realize that snakes could get angry? The comments are so God-Damned entertaining! ‘……but the things that you’re liable to read in the bible…they ain’t necessarily so……
The religious right would have paid more attention had you not work a bra under that dress, darlin………
April 30th, 2010 at 1:36 pm
I love this video! Hey so-called Christians out there, when you were a young child, you believed in Santa Claus because adults told you the stories of Santa, and you “bought in”…but then you were told he didn’t exist and you also believed that. If nobody told you that Santa didn’t exist, you would still believe in him. Religion is Santa Claus for adults…not an ounce of proof on anything in the Bible and it all can be disproven with facts and science. So I guess you also think dinosaurs never existed??
April 30th, 2010 at 1:53 pm
Lori,
I had no idea how many Red Necks watched you. Better be careful, the next thing you know you will be a snuff chewing, rifle tote-ing, bible spouting subhuman with a southern accent that thinks the civil war never happened. Oops, the phoney sothern accent is beginnign already.
April 30th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
Of course con Christians are obnoxious but then again Christ never existed
or does God-all “faith Heads” are obnoxious
April 30th, 2010 at 4:27 pm
Wow! Excellent work Lori ! Impressive satirical religious humor.
This is one of your best videos ever! You certainly “hit the nail on the head”, with this one!
I’m a long time, non-practicing Catholic and agree 100% with your perspective.
I salute, applaud and admire your bravery, honesty and sense of humor!
I had no idea you were so talented. Good accent also.
I think this is your funniest video ever. Good enough to possibly qualify for a television series or feature film role? This video is certain to create some angry responses, and the irony is, these angry responses will be from the very people you’re talking about! Personally, I’ve always thought of Christians as being a little overly sensitive, in addition to self righteous, and “two face” behavior and words.
Keep up the good work!

AMEN! …not bad at all… well said.
April 30th, 2010 at 8:56 pm

May 1st, 2010 at 7:48 am
Lori, I understand how you feel and am sadden that you feel that way. Many of those professing to be Christians have a head knowledge but not a heart knowledge. Jesus came to save all people from their sins, “God is not willing any any should perish but that all come to repentance”. Those whose comments showed their disbelief and hatred of God should know He still cares for them even in their unbelief.
A second point is on being a conservative, just like those who profess to be Christians with their head and not their hearts cause harm to Christ, so does those who profess to be conservative but in reality are something else. Conservative believe that the best way to help people is to do like the Chinese proverb says “Give a man a fish and you feed him for the day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a life time”. We need to stop the daily feeding by developing them into self providers. Some folks do not want to get away from your table as long as you will do the work for them. Thanks for allowing me to comment.

May 2nd, 2010 at 11:13 pm
[..YouTube..] It would be better if more people made an honest search of what it means to give your life to Jesus. Don’t look at the the few people that you do not like, and then reject Christ, but instead study who Jesus is, and the gift he has for you. Jesus said that He stands at the door of your heart, and knocks, if any one opens that door, He will come in and sup with him, and Him with he. It’s your choice to open the door, or leave it shut.

[..YouTube..] @ShawnPangle ….? She wasn’t attacking guns and faith. She was pointing out that there are people who claim to be Christians but then do the opposite of what Christians should do by trying to use said firearms to hurt people trying to steal or just trespassing. The same could be said about a Christian using a spear to hurt someone for trespassing but that example would have been a tad out of date wouldn’t it? Don’t think about it as an assault the religious but those who falsely claim to be.

[..YouTube..] @oblibious47 In my opinion she was trying to deliver a message from Christian to Christian. Also she wasn’t being hateful, just pointing out the hypocrisies of that kind of thinking. Oh, in case you missed it, there were Christian terrorist who were planning an assault on police officers just recently in the U.S. so stop pretending the only “terrorists” are Radical Muslims.
May 3rd, 2010 at 3:41 am
[..YouTube..] I think the message would have been a tad more well received without the accent.
May 3rd, 2010 at 4:35 am
[..YouTube..] Nothing quite like taking the piss out of these overzealous religious scrubs. God is dead people, it’s time to grow up.And corruption ? You’re talking about it as if it’s the occasional ‘dirty fingers in the donation bowl.’ When the same people who preach you your gospel are under indictment for raping 1000’s of blind and deaf little boys, it’s time to re-evaluate where you put your faith, no matter what religious denomination you believe. If you believe in God today, slap yourself.
May 3rd, 2010 at 6:01 am

May 3rd, 2010 at 10:09 am

May 3rd, 2010 at 4:24 pm
[..YouTube..] @renegade2142 Fair enough, we can disagree on who has control over our lives. Thankfully, you’re not willing to give it to those in the white house. If we can agree on that, that would be enough for me today. There are more like me, truly. Christians who will fight the good fight. Unfortunately, too many ‘Christians’ don’t live it, and the ones you’re hearing screaming stuff on TV don’t represent my values ; and maybe not God’s either.

May 3rd, 2010 at 6:55 pm

[..YouTube..] Wow really hit the nail on the head here. I’m a devote Christain, always will be. I’m not in any church though. I have personally witnessed all the hypocrisy the Rez mentions here. I encourage everypne to read the Bible, Jesus was a pretty decent guy, unlike the ’so called christains’

[..YouTube..] What people don’t realize is that the teachings of Jesus are not about what the organizers of the church do but about the teachings themselves. It does not matter if there are hypocrits in the church since it is not their moral standard you are trying to live up to. To do so, would be humuliating to yourself since you are constantly being judged by another person who is no better than anyone else in this world.

[..YouTube..] @d3n2000 Its not Christians per se that she is “making fun of”, but the hypocrites. However, it is a sad fact that most people that call themselves Christians are also VERY big hypocrites as well. That is why, when someone tells me they are Christian (especially if the topic never came up), I become very leery of the person.
May 8th, 2010 at 5:51 am
While, I agree with your view on some of the negative “attitudes” towards others some Christians engage in that are not Christlike especially from Evangelicals, I’m very offended as a Conservative and a Christian at the way you both misrepresent conservatism and you misrepresent general christian doctrine. While I’m LDS and we differ in some things, the things you mention we don’t differ on and you are misrepresenting what the scriptures actually teach as well as how christians and conservatives relate to such.
I don’t have the time to go into specifics of what you said, but it’s the normal liberal rants that LIE about what conservatives and christians actually believe.
I will take just one issue though, and that is your comment about Welfare & Taxes being the Christlike thing to do. You don’t actually know the scriptures. Christ said to “give” freely, he didn’t say that we should be “forced” to help others. Further, the more you tax those who are the creators of wealth, the more you are going to make EVERYONE poor. America gives more than ALL other country’s combined, and that is BECAUSE of Capitalism.
Further, Jesus once asked which is better, to give a man a fish or to teach a man to fish??? While yes, we need to be charitable, Jesus said it was to be voluntary, and it is supposed to be temporary. So, instead of focusing on TAKING from others as you are as the answer to the poor in society, you should be focused as conservatives are on “lifting” the poor from their circumstances, not by keeping them slaves by giving them handouts. See, you tax the wealthy, the wealthy have less to go around, when there is less to go around businesses raises prices, people loose jobs, pay goes down, there is less investment capital which is the engine of helping the poor become rich, on and on.
Liberals, you have good intentions, but you don’t have the intelligence to understand the terrible consequences of your good intentions, specifically the “solutions” and “conclusions” you make to try and solve the problems. There are “better” ways than you come up with. There is the Constitution, there is the Free Market, and there is teaching good values, self reliance, responsibility, character, etc., so the next generation is “less” about “me”, less about “coveting”. In fact, that is a good point….. Do you remember that Commandment “Thou shalt not Covet”??? See, when you want to “take” from others to give to others, and other start “expecting” the Government to take care of them you are creating a culture that “covets”, and becomes lazy, etc.
Anyway, so much could be said….. But, your simplistic characterizations are not the truth, and there are simply better ways to with issues than theft, than taxes, than destroying the economy turning into a third world economy, etc. We have the wealthiest society on the planet, even the poor have more wealth than the middle class of many other country’s. So, work on the problems, but don’t fix them the way other country’s try to, and thus making us worse.

Most yanks hate that idea, why? He said we’re all brothers and sisters (B&W), that we must protect and help the poor and oppressed, and that the persuit of wealth was an evil undertaking – yet McCarthy would have had him up in front of ‘The Commission’ for saying it. ‘God’ bless ye America- the source of many a good joke.

It is disappointing that you made a generalization. I am both conservative and Catholic. Lets make a few things clear:
1. Conservatives should give to the less fortunate. We just disagree with people being lazy and the attitude of expecting something for nothing. Want to be here? (America) Learn English and get a job. Giving to the less fortunate is up to me. The issue is choice. You are taking away my ability to choose. Cant do that.
2. I own guns, plenty of ‘em. Just what do you expect me to do when one of those illegal immigrants breaks into my home to rob me of property or life because he or she doesnt have a job? (Mind you, this could be because he or she is lazy OR doesnt speak English OR both). What should I do? Run? Nope. Dont be where you shouldnt be and dont do what you shouldnt do. Thats the answer.
2.1 The law says nothing about being able to, “shoot someone dead for just walking on [our] property.”
3. Consult the bible. It says that there is nothing wrong with a man or woman being rich. It does infer that it will be difficult for that man or woman to make it to Heaven as a result. Then again, who is to say they know how God defines wealth. And THAT definition is the one that counts.
4. If liberals had any sense whatsoever, they would be conservatives. When is more government EVER good? The founding fathers believed in less government. That’s why America materialized in the first place. Fact.
May 13th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
[..YouTube..] quite agree with you.
May 14th, 2010 at 12:08 pm
@leeuniverse & Andrew…
You both state categorical responses to “Liberals” and then go on to generalize in the manner that you condemn. And both of you speak of the ‘fact’ that “Liberals” are some how inferior to “conservatives”, mentally, spiritually or otherwise. And you both do this after espousing “Christian Ideals”.
Very interesting.

Deacons,
You seem like a pretty intelligent individual. For the time being, forget about “universe.” I will speak for myself.
Youre right, I do make a generalization of liberals. And beyond that, youre right, I am guilty of sins Id rather not commit. A lot gets lost in translation, and you cant hear me say what I have to say. So, just understand that the generalization that I made in jest about liberals and conservatives is about those groups as wholes, not about particular people within either affiliation.
However, the generalization to which I referred was the one the author made of ALL conservative Christians. Since I have to water this down for you, here goes: not all conservative Christians are what you say they are. The shame here is that less intelligent viewers will watch this and think that this is the way ALL conservative Christians are. Thats wrong. (Nevermind that the title alone is enough to incite God’s disappointment OR that certain parts of her argument are entirely incorrect.) And yep, I understand that it was done for effect.
It would appear that you are a liberal. It would also appear that you disagree with my generalization of liberals. Nothing wrong with that. You have your opinion and I have mine. I dont mean to diss liberals. I just dont understand how any intelligent liberal could disagree with the conservative argument.
May 20th, 2010 at 7:41 am
[..YouTube..] @Joncingular I understand what you are trying to say however, in the Bible it says Christians are supposed to lead by example & should have their life in the image of Christ’s (e.g behave the way Jesus would have). I am not sure what the Muslim or JW’s beleive & I’m not saying that they do not do it to- & im sure theresident isnt saying that they dont to, but the Christians have a set of guidlines that they are supposed to live their lives by & some think its just enough to go to church.
May 20th, 2010 at 7:32 am
Religion, divides us. And it’s not because of the religion’s ideologies that divides us, it’s the people who argue these ideologies. Whether you’re a liberal Christian, or conservative Christian. It’s the same as when you compare it to these Islamic extremist, who kill in the name of God, other Muslims would argue it’s spurious. People tend to use God as a mean to further their cause, if God’s behind it, who’ll argue? The conservative Christian cause is skewed from within their own congregation, most of them, if not all should re-read the word.
May 20th, 2010 at 8:44 pm
[..YouTube..] Most Christians are hypocrites. I was raised Protestant, so I’m not defending another religion. That being said, (I know this is crazy) I think that Christians, especially Catholics are followers of Satan, but were tricked into believing it is God. Jesus Christ was basically a human sacrifice. He died for our sins. (???) Then people were forced to believe or they were slaughtered, in The Crusades. Also, what’s with drinking the blood of Christ in Communion? YUK! Sound Satanic to me.

You have some what of a piont here. Some Christians make thier own rules up as they go along. I am a Christian and no i’m not perfect, but I do try to turn from my old ways of doing things, saying things each and every day its a life long journey. The problem here is you and everyone else who is not a Christian, think that Christians should be automatically perfect as Jesus was and is. We are always under attack and this is because the devil has corrupted out society with inappropiate, TV shows, movies, News..ect. You don’t see this because your caught up in it, we see these things just like Jesus said, he brings us out of darkness and into the light. I bet you dont even know what the Bible says, you probably never read it. The Bible is our owners manual for life just like a car comes with one, if you dont read it, you dont know how to operate it…
Love ya,
RM
May 28th, 2010 at 1:32 pm
@Andrew
Thank you for the kind words, and I repay you the compliment. You likewise seem intelligent and given to thoughtful discourse. Thank you for being civil in your approach, that is much appreciated.
“It would appear that you are a liberal”
You assume much.
Opinions are just that, opinions. And people are not so easily divided into neat categories of “Liberal/Progressive” or “Conservative”. Each of us resides within our own reality defined by our individual experiences. Those experiences form the basis for our perceptions of everything we see, hear, feel and do.
I do not categorize myself in such limited fashions. I try to think of the best possible choice to achieve the best possible outcome. I believe in God and hold true to Christian tenants, but I am not “born again”. I do my level best not to judge those around me since I have no way of knowing or understanding the experiences that brought them to a given moment in time. And, we agree that the ‘effect’ of the title and the content of this video are very good dramatic devices which have done what they intended to do, spur discussion. My only concerns as I read all of these posts are the ones who attempt to negate the validity of another’s views/ideals solely because they do not line up with their own.
“I just dont understand how any intelligent liberal could disagree with the conservative argument.”
What is the conservative argument? My concerns are that too many who ‘label’ themselves as “Conservative Christians” do not behave as either. And I truly believe (after following Lori’s posts for more than a year) that this is the point of her argument. The same can be said of “LIberals”. And I think it is because the more we attempt to pigeonhole each other and our selves within the narrow confines of labels we will forever be falling short of the perceived ideal. And the more we allow those labels to separate us one from another, the less likely we are to fulfill our duties in these roles we have chosen to fill. My take away for myself, from both this video and my Sunday School classes of youth, is to truly be a Christian, we must try to be Christ-like, and that means accepting and loving those around us. Those who agree with us and, even more importantly, those who do not. But that is not a “conservative” argument. That is a spiritual truth.
peace.

I can’t help but be both offended and humbled by this video. I would like to say, “I am a Christian” but there has been such a huge disambiguation of this term from when it began after Christ’s death and the creation of the church in Acts to today when people who are certainly NOT following Christ affiliate themselves with the term. I am a follower of CHrist, meaning I have died (and am continueing to die) to my belonging to this world (“world” being defined as desires of money, sex, fame, etc, NOT meaning people) and am alive in the resurrected power of Jesus Christ the Messiah, who died as the perfect sacrifice (look up the purpose of sacrifices in the OT, He fulfilled all requirements) in order that His people, the Jews (God’s chosen, beloved people), would recieve new life in Him and renewed fellowship witht the Father, and also that Gentiles (like myself) would be grafted into the branch of life. Jesus does not want ANYONE to be left out of His plan of redemption!! TRUE CHRISTIANS are followers of Christ who turn from the world’s path to the LORD’s chosen journey, denying themselves and bearing the burden of the cross. The cross represents love, meaning we put loving others before loving ourselves. And before loving others, we put loving the LORD. Loving the LORD is demonstrated by obeying His commands, and Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love the LORD with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and the second is to LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. This means that we DO NOT whine about supporting welfare, and if there are people who are working the system, then we must love them by holding them accountable for their actions, but never in any other way but the way a sister who sees her sibling doing wrong would want to stop that sibling because sinning distances one from God. Torture is distance from God. Hell is isolation and complete separation from God. It’s not burning in fire, it’s not freezing in a lake underground, IT’S SEPARATION FROM OUR LOVING FATHER!!! Please, brothers and sisters, enough with the cruelty, especially on such a medium as this! This is our good sister, she is making a good point, for there are many hypocrites out there, but we are all hypocrites, and we all must approach one another with love. I disagree with the Resident’s stereotyping all Christians this way. But i do agree, we have all fallen short of the glory of God. Please, take away from this the need to follow Christ and to have fellowship with Him. “Iam the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the FATHER (THe Great I Am from the Old Testament, the God that sustains human life to this day) except through ME.” Jesus is the answer to what we seek: peace, love, truth, life, hope, faith, happiness. He is the one who can make this right again. And Jesus put the greatest importance on helping the poor and down trodden. In the Gospel of Matthew, He states, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest” In Acts, it places great importance on taking care of the orphan and the widow. This must translate now to America.

[..YouTube..] @fafala7 GTFO NOOB!Notice the Catholic religion calls herself a woman. The Bible calls Catholicism a whore, and what a GREAT WHORE she is—committing spiritual fornication with the kings and rulers of the earth (nearly every king throughout history has had some type of political, economic or religious ties with the Vatican). Read The Vatican’s Holocaust. Study the Inquisitions—the torture and killing of tens-of-millions of people. Oh, even the antichrist is naked in light of God’s word.
June 4th, 2010 at 1:05 pm
[..YouTube..] @jihadjared I’m pretty much sure there’s not even one word in a Bible that says anything, and I mean ANYTHING about Catholicism. That of course, makes you a liar. I know much about Inquisition, Crusades and all of the shit Vaticane made during the history, including the power they had in a past and probably do now. But the thing I tried to say, all of that was done by Christians. Protestants are fags too. They started many wars during the history to gains power also. Christianity may suck it.

June 12th, 2010 at 6:56 am
[..YouTube..] @theresident There is some hypocrisy here. Personally, I have a claim to my own property, a product of my own labor. Those who propose government welfare, such as yourself, believe that I should give up the product of my labor, my property to the government so that they can hand it to those they deem in need (after greasing the palms of bureaucrats). The hypocrisy is this. I tell no one to get a job, but you are telling me to work for the benefit others.
June 12th, 2010 at 7:02 am
[..YouTube..] @theresident Mind you, no one is denying that there are those in need. But, individuals have the right to choose who is in need. It is not government that makes that choice for me. And for you to tell me that I need to sacrifice for my government so it can not only rob me of my labor, it robs me of the right to choose my idea of charity for myself. Mind you, no one is denying rampant fraud and abuse in the government welfare system either.

It is truely a shame that the wrong in this country hide their evil behind the name of god.
July 12th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
[..YouTube..] @abctijo WRONG! America is what it is today because it hid behind the idea of christianity, and that is truth. Example… would Jesus sit down with the Native indians and have a feast, then murder hundreds of indians for thier land? Or, would jesus get himself a farm house then buy 5 slaves torn from their land to be put to manual labor for the benifit of jesus’ profit from crops? Or better yet, would God bless America over Isreal, his “chosen people”?(says the bible) Expand your minds!
July 12th, 2010 at 12:14 pm
[..YouTube..] @PorphyricWalrus Nice use of a fallacy here with changing the subject of hipocrasy onto the girl in the video with the home break-in. Anyway, that is exactly what Jesus would so, is sit back and let them take stuff. Can your brain take that? or are u making up other fallacies to handle your cognitive dissonance? As for taxes, if churches were like jesus they would give all their income that should be taxed, to the poor (like jesus would <–truth). in other words, your post is “stupid.”

Can he help it that a bunch of rednecks from England decided that when they came to America that the religious freedom they wanted was that they were free to observe their religion but nobody else could. Looks like we still have those same rednecks now.
September 7th, 2010 at 7:34 am
[..YouTube..] @TMnDog1 Learn your history. The term, “jewish” didn’t even exist until after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Son of God. Before then, the “jews” were under Judaism. They were the “others” who didn’t follow Jesus, and only followed what was in the Old Testament. Thus, why when you look up, “jewish” or “jew” for the religious term it’ll say something relating to exiles.
