The Crime of Lyme Disease

I am not one to believe in conspiracy theories. I generally don’t believe people are smart enough to pull off global stunts. However I am always open to the possibility of a conspiracy theory being true and am generally diligent in researching one when it seems important to do so in my life. The controversy over chronic Lyme Disease is one such example.

This is because my husband HAS chronic Lyme disease. He is not the victim of some psychosomatic mind-screw, he does not have MS or lupus or the other 10 diseases he was misdiagnosed with over the years, he has chronic Lyme disease, and the one thing that has helped him not be bed-ridden and has prevented his health from further deterioration has been long-term antibiotic treatment.

We are both well aware of the controversy and the pros and cons against antibiotics in this day and age. He has carefully weighed the affect of long-term antibiotics against the disease in his body, Lyme, and the choice is so blatantly clear, there really isn’t one: the antibiotics are the only thing that has kept him able to live a normal life. When he has another infection, it is difficult for him since he now has a resistance to certain antibiotics, but he is also able to, oh, feel his arms – which he couldn’t always do before the antibiotic treatment.

And that’s all I’ll say about my personal life here. The bottom line is, when it comes to the idea that maybe there is a conspiracy against chronic Lyme disease, I am whole-heartedly in support. This one, there IS a cover-up going on.

You should really watch Under Our Skin to learn more, if for no other reason than to help yourself catch Lyme in the early stages should it ever happen to you.

Also I usually bury my links in the video description, but here are a bunch of references for you to check should you want to learn more on your own:
