Real American Rebels

I can’t be the only person who thought of this, but: The Occupy Wall Street protest in NYC happens to be taking place on the very same ground where many pivotal events in the American Revolutionary War took place. Both the war revolutionaries and the protesters are groups of people pissed off at the powers in charge. Do they have anything else in common?
Are these OWS protesters the new American rebel, in other words, contributing to a revolutionary cause that will result in an entirely new kind of system? Or is there a fundamental difference between the rebels of yesterday and these smelly trust-fund hippies? I went on the Patriot Tour, a Revolutionary War-era walking tour of downtown Manhattan, to find out. PS: I think I posed that question very level-handedly, thank you very much. This week, let’s talk about that.
