Before then, I did not know what it was like to not only lose someone, but to lose someone to a disease that kills them slowly, painfully, while all you can do is watch. Not fun. Since it happened, more and more people that I know have been diagnosed with various forms of cancer. It is an awful, awful disease that I would not wish on anyone. So when I was approached by Stand Up To Cancer.org to help them get the word out about their work with a little alternative news piece, it was a no brainer.
