Viva La Resolutions!

December 31, 2009 115 Comments

Man, do I HATE New Year’s Resolutions. I don’t need to tell you why, though, right? I mean, you KNOW it’s because it’s very dull to make a promise to change your lousy behavior just because of our arbitrary calendar, and it’s even duller of you to believe you will actually STICK to it. Clearly, if you mean to change your behavior, you should do it for you, on a day that makes sense for your lifestyle, and you should probably not broadcast it drunkenly at a New Year’s Eve party, because all of those things might help you actually make a positive change in your life. I’ve railed about the stupidity of these New Year’s resolutions before. So this year I just figured I’d go along with it and make some really stupid resolutions. This year, I just didn’t feel like fighting, I felt like laughing it off. So maybe my REAL resolution is to follow my instincts more often and do what I FEEL like doing instead of doing what I think people expect me to do. Wait. That sounded like a REAL resolution. Nevermind! Happy New Year, everyone!

It’s February 12th today; enough time to say, with little fear of reprisal, 2010 sucks.

[..YouTube..] (Ah, sorry, typo. Of course, it should read “Hitler and Stalin killed many millions – this doesn’t mean murder is just fine, so long as you kill less people than them”. The “don’t” shouldn’t be there. I wrote it a different way at first, then edited it to make it shorter to fit these stupid comment limits and accidentally left the “don’t” in there, when it should have been edited out.)
