Why Media Bias is OK

All the media is biased. Right AND left, conservative AND liberal. And that’s OK. What’s not OK is how all the media pretend they are fair and balanced and neutral. Not only is that a lie, but it gives them the sneaky ability to declare their stories as the absolute truth. Since they purport to deliver just the unbiased truth, you cannot refute their angle. The bottom line is, it’s impossible for the media to be unbiased, because it’s impossible for people to be unbiased. And what is the media if not just collections of second-hand accounts of events seen through the eyes of fallible, complex human beings? It’s time we got rid of this 200-year old notion of unbiased media, America. Let’s make our media accountable again.

  1. Dear Lori, I am falling in love with you. You say the thing in your videos exactly what I feel. Good Job. Keep doing it forever.

Sorry, my English is not good.

  2. Lori in 5 foot monkey……
In her ‘pole dance’ video her thys are very strong…one kick with her leg and its fatal….

  3. The bias is why I will not spend money on the news. I won’t subscribe to any newspaper until I see a 100% unbiased news source. We get angry at Fox News and WSJ and their bias, and others get mad at MSNBC and USA Today for their bias.

It’s all become sensationalism and propaganda. I don’t want them owning it…I want them to stop making their channels about pushing liberal or conservative agendas.

I want unbiased, and I don’t think it’s impossible to have. I roll my eyes at some heavily left-wing propaganda piece on Huffington Post just as much as I roll my eyes at most of what is printed in WSJ and shown on Fox News.

Save the opinion for blogs and opinion shows…don’t have your regular news anchors become no better than the opinion pundits.

  4. Believe it or not I don’t watch television. They are very biased with their news coverage. CNN and Fox News have the the worst news coverage ever, in my opinion. Trash news, for people lacking in education, maturity, or intelligence.

I use API online as one of my trustworthy sources of news. They’ve been around a long time and have a respectable track record.

What news media outlets today are claiming they are unbiased?
Any intelligent and mature person knows bias is natural and part of the human condition. It’s best to get one’s news from several sources (liberal, middle of the road and conservative) and then judge what’s most credible from one’s own perspective.

You speak intelligently and always do your research before your “rants”.

  5. Unsubscribe your ass off, I could listen to this sweet thing all day, most of it anyway

  6. Exactly, precisely, and to the point. There has to be pro’s and con’s to everything, otherwise we would not learn. Has to be something or someone to compare to, or else it would just be a mundane existence, correct?

  7. Sometimes being unbiased could hurt constructive criticism that is needed. The media has to add a little humanism, validated opinions, that would appear as real as possible. When covering exclusive stories, people wants to feel the stories as if they were there. Media these days are telling a story-line as if they were going to audition for a role in a movie! Yes, I agree that the media needs to be bias in order to be more effective- otherwise, people would become skeptical and confuse.
